Working today unfortunately...but it's slow so it's ok. I'm doing washer/dryer research lol!
Weekend was good, I took a health club rebate from my insurance company and bought paint and supplies so I could start painting! I started in the bathroom with the crown molding and window and boy...I forgot how annoying it is to paint..I have a feeling the bead board is going to be a PITA! At least the top part of the walls and bedrooms with be easier.
Not working today. We went and picked our vanity remnant and changed our backsplash tile. Now DH is playing Tetris in our apartment with all the IKEA boxes for the beach house and new house.
Weekend was good. Visited my parents and my mom and I scrapbooked all weekend. It was our 6th year at this crop. I did end up sick yesterday, but feel much better today.

Working today.
Weekend was good. Friday night fun, went got a sitter and went out with DH's cousin last minute. Saturday DD1 had her first soccer game. It was adorable! Sunday we took them to ikea. It was exhausting, but we bought the vanity and sink, and made all the kitchen decisions. I put it all into their system last night and think I'm going to go order tomorrow!
Every day is a holiday for me, but DH is home for the first MLK day in a very long time. He's only off because he got laid off last week. lol
We had a pretty good weekend. Friday we spent some time with some old friends who are staying at their timeshare near Disney. We haven't seen them in quite some time, so it was really nice. I think we have plans with them for next weekend too, as long as the rain doesn't interfere. Saturday we worked a little in the yard cleaning things up and got a few bargain plants from Lowes sale section planted. It rained and we had thunderstorms Saturday overnight, so I was up with a scaredy dog part of the night. As a result, yesterday was a super lazy day for me, while DH spent much of the day transferring stuff that we hadn't been able to get from some old laptops to our cloud.

Not working today (but we also don't have a holiday in UK). Went to visit my H for lunch (near his work).
Weekend was fun - had friends over and my H made a really gorgeous lamb curry on Saturday. And we got our new car - Mazda MX-5. Love it! Our mid-life crisis car. ;-)

What?? Was this expected? Didn't you move there for his job? I'm so sorry to hear about this and hope that everything's OK.
Thanks. He's actually relieved. This past year has not been a good one for him.
When they had a merger last year they laid off a lot of people and had dismantled his department. He sort of was assigned to the other company, in another state, but was still at this office and was still considered a manager (of a department of one-lol). The people in that office had an 'us vs them' attitude and he tried to work with them as a team, but they treated him like a competitor. The other company people tried to have him teach them everything he knew in one week, (they expected to just pick up what he had learned in over 20 years in the power industry) but decided that it was easier to keep him around. Maybe. As a result, they have had some problems and the company decided to downsize that division.
They got rid of 20 people (19 at the out of state office and DH) last week....some dead weight, but mostly the older guys who make big bucks. Too bad they also happen to be the only ones familiar with a lot of the ins and outs of what they do, so it should be interesting.
He gets a decent severance package, and because we are in FL and not hcol CA, we're fine. At least this time we aren't doing anything stupid like planning a wedding/reception like we did the last time he was out of a job. He's made a lot of friends and good business relationships over the years and already has people asking for his resume, so we'll see what happens. He has faith that it will all work out, since it always does.
