That is so fucking annoying. I had an appt with a psychiatrist once and she was an hour and a half late. At least, that's how late it got before I left. And they kept my copay and said I could use it when I rescheduled. Which I never did.

Oh man, that sucks. I feel you on the anxiety. I feel like I'm in a similar place to you.
It took me a long time to get up the courage to make an appointment and my childcare is super limited and when I did, my PCP canceled. I finally got on some meds and he wants me to see a psychologist and if this med doesn't work, to see a psychiatrist.
I'm hoping this med will work. I have crap high deductible health insurance and only 4 hours a week without my dd and it will be hard to get to a doctors appointment for me.
My mom's does this exact same thing. She went a few months without seeing him due to all his cancellations. She is a caregiver for an elderly woman so she has really specific availabilty and makes her appointments way in advance. Very frustrating.
I am still bitter I have a sick visit scheduled for next Monday. I will be better by then!
That's so annoying!
I wish I could go see my kids pedi when I'm sick! I can always get them in that day if they're sick.
An appt. a week later doesn't help if I'm sick NOW.
And this is I don't bother having a PCP. I go to my gyn annually and urgent care or a Walgreens clinic if I am sick. No PCP can ever get you in the same day, so what's the point?
My neuro wants me to see a psychiatrist because apparently chronic pain makes you depressed, but they guy he referred me to didn't have an opening until February 1. I called in mid NOVEMBER. I'm thinking of cancelling anyway because he's out of network and I don't want to pay $250.

This is one of the many reasons we left Kiaser. I tried to get mental health my entire pregnancy and I saw the physiatrist once. It was my initial intake appointment. They kept offering to call me in an RX. I hate that mental health is not a priority in this country.
From what I hear, psychiatrists are getting away from therapy sessions and doing mostly med management. If you decide to switch to someone new, you may be better off with a different kind of counselor.
I know I am! Thanks guys! They called back, he can see me Friday at 4:30, which was my Gyn day, but fortunately I was able to push Gyn back to next Friday!
Clusterfuck
Gives me another week to work in diet and reducing blood pressurez
They've cancelled on you twice and can't work you in until March? Is this some kind of test or something?
I used to get my meds from a psychiatrist who, no lie, was increasingly late for every damn appointment. The first week was 10 minutes, then 15, then 20, and it got to the point where I honestly really did think she was messing with me just to see how far she could go before I'd burst. One of my issues was confrontation, so I'm pretty sure she really was doing it on purpose, but it sounds legit crazy when I say it out loud.
