I am trying not to think about it. I went to the grocery store yesterday in the hopes of avoiding any need to go between now and Friday because people are already losing their minds.

I think? I need to go back to the store today to get some more cans of soup and more firewood. I just hope we don't lose power.
I LOVED snowmeggadon in 2010. But I had an apt (no shoveling) and no children. I am excited to go sledding, I just don't want to be stuck in the house for a week.
ETA: I did buy 120 lbs of salt. We live on a corner lot. SO MUCH SHOVELING
No. There's no reason to have snow if I don't have mountains and skis.
Also, it could really eff up H's visit, and I haven't seen him in a month and have really needed him during that time.
Plus, it will eff up the metro, and I really don't think my Florida born self wants to drive in the snow in my civic. I need the snow power of a subaru.
This is the only place I can admit that I'm glad I cancelled my long weekend trip to NYC, which I was originally scheduled to leave for tonight. ::basks in the Arizona sun::

Mostly. Depending on the source, we're in the 2-3 feet range. Got two cans of Sterno and my camp stove in the kitchen. Checked flashlights for good batteries, have extras. We've refilled the gas tanks for the two neighbors that plow. Got the snow shovel out of the shed. DH is out getting a full propane tank in case we lose power and need to use the grill to cook. We've got multiple containers of water in the fridge. I'll fill the bathtub on Friday (in case we lose power, for flushing toilets). I plan on stopping on the way home tomorrow to get some extra bottles of drinking water and birdseed for the feeders (they've emptied two since Sun afternoon already). Got all the bread, milk, and TP we need for at least a week.
So, with all that, the storm will slide to the east of us and we'll get nothing :0
Like @mrsbecky said, as long as we don't lose power. I live along a main road that will be plowed quickly so I'm excited for it!
The first year my family moved from Atlanta to Baltimore, we had the blizzard in 96 and school was closed for over a week. My brother and I were all - we love Maryland!

They were saying up to 20 inches near D.C. I live in an area that is accustomed to lots of snow and that would be way too much for us to even handle in a short time, so I am really hoping its not that bad down there. Those are really dangerous amounts for that far south. And if there are power outrages....esh.

If we get 2 feet of snow, there will be no driving. Nothing will be open and it will likely be a week before roads are clear if it's anything like last time.

LOL that started on my 13th birthday and I was all, "best birthday ever!"
I;m getting excited. I'm glad it's hitting Friday afternoon and we'll have all Saturday to drink, drink, drink play, play, play!!! I'm hoping our neighbors are up for some snowday fun!
I'm so unprepared other than all the food I have in the freezer. I have a gas stove, so that will still work without power. None of my flashlights work b/c Hawaii rusted anything it could.
Looks like I'm in for a Costco trip. Luckily I can go at an off time.
If I lose power I may actually get shit done here.
I'm pretty excited! At the store right now and it's a total zoo Losing power would suck though because we're on well water and have an electric stove so we would lose everything.

Oh. In Japan we got amounts like that fairly frequently, and the town had no snow plows. It didn't really stop anyone. Hmmm. I had a feeling this area wouldn't be like that, but a whole week? I know my road will be clear b/c it's major. But I hadn't thought about there being nowhere to go.

People here will lose their minds over 2 ft. I'm guessing no school until at least Wednesday if we really get that much.
