What class did you most look forward to in college and why? I really enjoyed psychology, I really enjoyed hearing different theories on different personalities, and understanding why people sometimes do the things they do.
My major was in linguistics, but I did a minor in anthropology, and there were so many interesting courses to choose from.
I think it was a tie between a comparative religion course, in which we studied differences and similarities in the major religions of the world, and a medical anthropology course, in which we studied how different cultures view illness and approach healing. I used to really look forward to picking up a nice big coffee, heading to those courses, and just sitting back and soaking up all that cool knowledge!

I was an English major, so totally geeked out on most of those classes. Any of the creative writing courses taught by my very favorite professor were awesome. In spring, they would offer a special focus author study class, where you just dove into one author for the entire semester. It was usually Hemmingway or Faulkner, but my junior year they offered a Toni Morrison class. That class was amazing. Like change your soul a little bit amazing.

My two favorites were Constitutional History and a seminar I took on Native American History (one of many NA history courses I took, but the most in depth).
Astronomy, literature, and a sociology class. I was an international relations major (basically political science) and those were so different and so fun. I wish I knew what I know now - I would have picked a different major, probably would have gone to a different school.
I believe it was called "Legal Aspects of Medical Records". It was interesting to learn to laws, and the state statues for the area. I was living in OR/WA area at the time so I did my final paper on the "Death With Dignity Act".
I majored in animal science and was pre-veterinary. I loved my animal disease and control class, animal anatomy and physiology, and history of rural america. That class talked about the "80's farming depression" leading to farmer suicide, and how it affected everything ag from land prices, markets, feed costs, veterinary costs, etc.

Oh, that medical anthropology course sounds so interesting!

Logic and Reasoning. It was a generally hated class but I loved it. I also got an A+ even though I was generally a slacker student.
My other favorite was Metalsmithing. There was a special program where freshman could sign up for small classes lead by department heads. It was a lottery and I got to learn all these advanced fine arts techniques from a master jewelry designer. It was so fun and I still cherish the pin and bracelet I made.

I loved a film class that I took and I also really enjoying Literary Magazine, where you got to run the college literary mag and chose submissions to accept.

I am a Chem E and I fit the stereotype. I really liked calculus. But I also really enjoyed a sociology class. I can't remember what it was called, something like "sociology of deviants." It was about what makes people neo-nazi, or gets them involved in cults, things like that. It was really interesting. I also loved my astronomy class. I wish we had google sky back then! I hope this is more a reflection of the class than of me, but I hated my ethics class. So boring and the professor was a jerk.
All of them after general Ed lol. I was a comm major with a minor in journalism and I loved all my classes.
I also went to a very small private college so classes were small and once you got into your core classes you were basically with the same people all the time and it made for really good conversation/debate.

I loved a lot of my lit classes, but my favorites were Sex and Gender in the Middle Ages and Women in Lit. and Film. I also really loved the anthropology classes/sociology classes I took and wish I had taken more.
Public speaking. Always had that food network star dream and totally used it as practice, ha!
I LOATHED public speaking (introvert with major anxiety here,) but it was taught by one of my favorite professors.
Calculus was probably my favorite since I'm a huge nerd that loves math. I thought Psychology was really interesting, but I didn't care for the professor which made it much less enjoyable.
I enjoyed all of my psychology classes and most of my education classes. My favorite was probably Children's literature. The professor was one of my favorites also.
I did my Masters in Anthropology and loved almost all of my courses. One of the best was on rituals and rites of passage. I also had an amazing religious studies course where the professor brought in a guest speaker from all kinds of religions/belief systems. When we had Wiccan guest speakers, we did a spring ritual with them and it was one of the weirdest/most awesome experiences of my life. I'm a HUGE skeptic, but the room got hotter and colder during different parts of the ritual, and at the end, one of the other students walked into the middle of a circle in a trance, fainted, and woke up with no recollection of having moved or said anything. It was seriously a mind-bender.
Social psych was fascinating and I use the stuff from it all the time. I took an English/African-American Studies seminar called "The Blues Impulse" that I loved. My favorite in-major class was called "The Cellular Basis of Behavior" and I loved it. I took a great class called "Formation of Modern American Culture". My midterm paper was on Barbie, and my final paper on Bruce Springsteen and John Cougar Mellancamp
My degree is in behavioral neuroscience. It was so interesting, even though it is reasonably useless (I teach middle school history...). I loved the way my college required "groups" instead of specific classes.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
