Me! I think we're pretty set. May stop at MOMs to pick up a couple GF things for DS - just to be safe! DH will actually be home for this storm- yay. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I'm expecting to have some neighborhood fun.
THANK GOD I did a winter clothing double check earlier this week. DSs boots have disappeared. So DH was able to get a new pair.
I'm in the 18-24" range. Thank goodness we have a commercial snow blower. My arms hurt thinking about shoveling the patio for the dogs. My dogs do LOVE snow but this amount is crazy.
Headed to the Giant NOW for a grocery shop! Hoping it isn't bad at 7:30am.
We are under a blizzard warning. I've been sick as a dog the past two days so I have not had time to properly assess our rations Kids are pumped, and frankly I am too. I'm a total weather weenie and I live for this stuff. I am just hoping it doesn't bust.

We're expecting 6-12". I'm really hoping MH is able to fly in tonight before it starts. We're fine with provisions though and live in a city that rarely shuts down. I think (hope)we'll be fine.
I'm always skeptical when they call the first big storm of the winter, because it's been a bust the last few years, but it seems we're solidly in the 12-18 band. H went out last night and stocked us up on food and beverages and paper towels/TP, so we're ready. I'm excited to take L out in it on Sunday, but I am admittedly nervous about her napping situation this weekend - she pretty much only naps in the car since we're so rarely home on weekends, and obviously we're not going to be able to take her out for a drive! Oh well.
DC area Last week, in a moment of overnesting, I went though the house and threw away just about all of our food. So I braved the stores yesterday to get enough to get us through the weekend. I will be bitterly sober for this blizzard so I'm not looking forward to it.
I'm working today till 12 and then heading home, hoping the traffic won't be too horrible since the feds are letting out at the same time.
No snow here and I don't often miss living in the DC area, but I surprisingly do today.
Sometimes I love getting snowed in (provided it's relatively short-lived). Hope you guys are all well-stocked and don't lose power.
Stay safe and warm and have fun.
I always love the first good snow of the season and especially when it hits on a weekend. I live in a great neighborhood and there is an excitement around getting snowed in. What else is there to do but get together and drink while the kids play in the snow?
I am nervous about the power, though. We don't tend to lose it much but when they talk about "heavy wet snow", that's a game changer.

I loved living in FL when we'd gear up for a hurricane, too.
I always feel guilty about enjoying weather systems that necessitate "hunkering down" because obviously they aren't safe for people always and people lose power or get stuck or worse, but I love the forced nestling down it requires and having my family and / or friends around to nestle in with me.

This is so much what it is - we just all have to STOP for a day or two. Then you look around at who's there and have a chance to spend non-rushed time with them. You're all in the same boat.
DC area checking in, and I think we're just about ready. According to our neighbors we should expect to lose power at some point, though we're close enough to a large commercial area that it generally gets restored quickly. I have a lot of little chores to finish today (laundry, cooking, etc...), but I did all of the grocery shopping yesterday so we're set on food. Giant was a NIGHTMARE when I went, so my fingers are crossed for those of you heading out this morning that you find everything you need.

we're in the 12-18 range. stocked up on food and books to read and now I am just praying we don't lose power. I will be totally fine trapped all weekend as long as we have power, if we lose it, I will lose it trapped with 4 kids
I'm in the 24"+ area. Not really looking forward to it, honestly. We've been to the grocery store like three days in a row. Haha. I got a down comforter from my mom, stocked up on batteries, bottled water, etc. I'm charging all of my electronics now just in case. I'm about to throw a 4 lb brisket in the crock pot though we have plenty of other food that doesn't require heating up, just in case. I'm really nervous about losing power. I guess in that event my husband and I plus our three cats will get into bed and pile up the blankets.
Sitting under the blizzard warning in south NJ right over the bridges from Philly.
Happy not to be in the city - back in 2010/2011 it was a debacle with snow removal.
We're prepared. My only concern is if we lose power. We will have to head to a hotel because our generator isn't hard wired to run our furnace. (Works great for summer storms to keep the fridge and such running but not sufficient for power outage in winter)
With a newborn now our old strategy of just bundling up and dealing with the cold isn't an option.
SC - like luckyval, we are getting mostly ice and freezing rain, and some snow. It's freezing rain right now and has been for a while. Daycare is closed, all schools closed. I think the bulk of what we will get will happen between noon today and 7pm tomorrow. I'm flying to Portland on Sunday so I hope travel isn't as much of a nightmare then. It's supposed to be back up to 50 degrees here by Sunday.

I'm also in the Philly 'burbs/12-18" range. I forgot about a snow suit for my kid at Christmas, but miracle of all miracles his from last year still fit, including the boots! This will be my pup's first big snow storm and I cannot wait. I am going to try to take some fun family photos if I can manage it!
We're expecting to get maybe an inch, and we'll probably be dismissed from work early so we can get home before it starts. But an inch of snow is a major event for us

A little south of Pittsburgh checking in. We are supposed to get anywhere between 6-8. This Texas girl has never seen so much snow. We went shopping for food the other day and have plenty of alcohol. :-) The kids are so excited to snowboard and sled in the snow tomorrow.

This is true. And I am happy it's a Saturday so I don't have to worry about missing work.
I'm in the 24-32" band. We're fully stocked with frozen pizza, oreos, smores, wine, firewood and Netflix. My company follows the feds and I have over an hour commute so I am working from home this morning. My parents gifted us their old snow blower earlier this month. My puppy loves to play in the snow. As long as we don't lose power, I am so excited!

I'm only at the northern edge of it. I know we just sent a rather large deployment of assessors, logistics people, and line workers to the Carolina territory. Hopefully they'll be prepared enough.
