I want a fucking RD that understands the needs of athletes that have weight issues thanks to other underlying medical issues, and not some LN that hasn't seen a treadmill in years and doesn't believe in women being strong, just skinny as a hallmark of health.
I feel like I'm chasing a magical opalescent unicorn here.
I am still fired up on yours and emilyj 's behalf. WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT?! Ugh. I'm getting mad all over again for you guys.
I unleashed on my PCP's nurse today. They referred me to an endocrinologist 3 weeks ago, even though they were all "Nah, nothing's wrong." Then my insulin levels come back through the roof. Still no word from the endocrinologist.
I get that I'm not the most patient person, but JFC. I want answers and a plan.
Also see my ETA on my previous post wambam , and get even more fired up. And then change your career. But only for me, lol.
I texted my H "If I were brave I would go back to school and become an RD for athletes" and I'm current on the UD College of Health and Sport Science webpage.
I'm still looking for a belt for my iPhone 6s+. Got the Fitletic and it took me five minutes to put my phone in. So I took it back. I saw a Nathan belt when we were at a bike shop buying a bike for DS over Christmas but my only issue with it was that it didn't have bottles on it which I would eventually need for my marathon training during the summer. So I'm not sure if Nathan has bottles that you can attach to the belt after you buy it. Other than that I really don't have anything I want/need.
A couple of people on my team have one and rave about it.
I do actually! Now if I could just remember where I put it. Ha. I'm trying to remember if I might have even thrown it away. Ha. But the problem I had with that was I was paranoid about things falling out of it.
ETA: FOUND IT! In the bottom of the clean laundry basket.

Got one . It is not great. Keeps slipping. I can mail it to you if you would like to try it.
have you checked the Amphipod pouches? Not sure what size they go up to, but I've been eyeing one for my droid max phone. It slips onto any belt you already wear, similar to a general purpose pouch I have that I wear on either my Fuel belt (with water bottles) or my spi belt (when I don't need water).
I asked what volume of her clients were described as athletic or active people, and they had zero clue. The counter question was "why does that even matter for losing weight?". um, EVERYTHING. I asked how many of her patients have PCOS or Endo-related issues, and it was "well they're mostly heart patients or diabetics that need to learn how to eat right". Um, that's not me. I asked if there were any RDs that I could see in her place, and they told me that "an LN is the same as an RD". NO NO NO NO NO.
I just cocked my head to the side like a confused puppy because WHAT? How is your energy expenditure not relevant to your weight loss???
I want Nike Metcons (CF shoes). Preferably the new version, but I will take the old version if necessary. My friend's dad lives in the US and is going on a hunt for us because our other friend will be seeing him this weekend and can bring them back for us on Monday. They have the old ones available online here but not in my size (I am a giant in Chile), and they've never had women's Metcons in the Nike stores here (god knows why), so my best chance is to get them from the US. Pray the stars align!
Also new running shoes, but that's less exciting. Anyone have a suggestion for a shoe to look at if I've been wearing New Balance 880 v4?

ETA- oh you'll get a kick out of this too. I was discussing all of this with my ladybits doctor today, and she suggested "have you tried keeping your calories around 1500 a day?" And I was like, "based on what nutritional research and vetting that you've done of me?". And she said "well it works for other people". DO ALL OF THESE OTHER PEOPLE RUN BACK TO BACK MARATHONS AND FUCKING TRIATHLONS?!?!?!? I told her 1500 calories on many days wouldn't even counteract the calories I burn. She looked at me like I had 4 heads.
Ha. I was thinking that the RD sounded like a good career and looked up the requirements. Looks like I would have 4 credits to apply toward that degree. Yay Soc & Psych 100. I don't even meet the math requirement. I avoided college algebra and did principals of mathematics or something like that instead.
Damn. How can people work in a field and be so clueless?
To answer the OP - I bought 2 new workout bras. One to replace the one my new dog chewed (but he came out wearing it and it was hilarious so I wasn't too mad at him [plus it was one that needed to be replaced]), and one that just smells too bad despite several washes.

We have an RD program at the school where I work. I looked into it but so many prerequisites!

I have an Amphipod belt. You buy the belt and components separately and customize it how you want.
I have the belt and a Rapid Access pouch on mine, and I add water bottles as needed. I wanted something that my phone would slide in and out of easily because I wanted to be able to take pictures during the RunDisney events we signed up for.

This looks perfect! I wonder if they'll be at the expo tomorrow.
@vtcupcake - Seriously....you need to contact Dr. Kumar. www.namritakumar.com/services/ Namrita is AMAZING! She's an endurance mountain bike racer, triathlete, runner...oh....is an RD with a PhD in Nutrition from Georgia Tech. Plus, she's one h*ll of a great lady! If you contact her, please tell her that I referred you.
No new fun things for me. I have to pay for a dental implant. Blergh. Last week I ordered this year's team clothing including CX skinsuits, extra shorts, and a jersey. I consider that replacement stuff since I get about 2 years out of my cycling clothing.
Oh! I do want to get a pull up bar for the house. But I don't want something that screws in to anything. Do these exist?
I have something like this: www.amazon.com/Heavy-Duty-Doorway-Chin-up-Pull-up/dp/B0055PFE2Y that doesn't screw in. My recommendation is to make sure you a solid, well-built door/wall to use it. I've used it in 3 different apartments, 2 had no issues but 1 the walls were thin and I never really felt secure (felt like the wall was going to crack) so I didn't use too much there. Otherwise though, I've been happy with it.

Is it spring-loaded/tension then? So I could put it in a doorway?
I scored at goodwill today! A pair of purple lululemon yoga pants that look like they were never worn for $5.99, a 2010 chicago marathon 1/4 zip long sleeve shirt for $4.99, and a lucy long sleeve thumbhole shirt for $5.99. And non-HF related, I got some green jcrew pants for $4.99 that still had the $79.99 tags on them. I freaking love my goodwill!

It hangs on/in a doorway but isn't spring loaded. Here are pictures from the front and back up in my office door frame (sorry the lighting is weird, was hard to not have glare):
cole Is it stable feeling? My fear is that it would be rocking all over the place. I'm guessing it sort of holds itself in place?
Sorry for all the questions.
No worries! It is very stable feeling once you have it centered. The bar along the top of the door frame is counter balanced by your weight. That said, it is why I had issue in one apartment because the pressure on the wall felt like too much for probably shitty construction (it works fine in my current place).
I just did a dead hang and jumping pull ups and chin ups, because lol at a straight pull up right now, and it didn't move My H (5'10"/235ish) and I both use it without issue.
