Nice! This might be a stupid question, but was that your own design? Did the tattoo artist come up with it?
Longwinded answer ahead:
I found two Japanese woodblock prints from an artist named Ohara Koson that I loved, one was a pair of swallows & one was a single swallow on a branch with a peony. I picked the shop based on a friend's DH's recommendation (he's a tattoo artist in the Midwest). Most of the artists in the shop do Japanese style tattoos, which fit the style I wanted. Then I picked my artist after looking through 10 portfolios, gave him my research at our consult & he designed it.
He was so into the concept that he's since done a bunch more similar sketches that he's going to post to see if anyone else wants one. I totally picked the right person because he's been so into the design & it's been super fun.
For some reason, the first time I looked the leaves weren't coming in with the color but on my computer they are and it went from "that's pretty" to "that's stunning." You chose your artist well.
