Last night I took my DD to kindy orientation. Got home around 8 and I'm 95% sure I locked my car.
Go to leave this morning and as I'm putting DD in her seat I noticed its crooked. So I push on it a little bit and both the latches are completely unhooked- the sit isn't attached to car except for the head anchor, which is still attached.
So WTF? Here are my only theories: I've been driving around with her seat un latched for like a week (we recently did some rotating of car seats, but I swear I don't recall doing anything with that seat, but it's possible I suppose) this would also mean I didn't notice this for a whole week OMG
Theory 2: I lock my car ALL the time. Last night was not a normal night though because of the orientation so I can't say 100% I locked it. It may have been unlocked and someone tried to seal it I guess?
Which one is more likely? I feel like either option means I'm going fucking senile or insane.
It has to be option 1. It really does. But holy fucking shit I've been driving all over the city with a loose 4 year old in the backseat like it's 1978
Do you have other kids? Every time I take a friend in the car, and they sit in the middle, they inevitably unlock the belt for the carseat AND their middle belt. It's happened more than once, and I am not even going to tell you how long it took for me to realize it the first time.
I bet when you rearranged it wasn't latched completely and it slipped loose sometime during the week.
I'm going to have to go with this, option #3. There's no way I could properly tighten DD's seat without noticing if it was unlatched, it would move all over the place. But being not-quite-hooked onto the latch bar? Happens all the freaking time in my mom's car.
I don't even know where to post an intro here! I was on TK/TN/TB since 2003, mostly local boards. I was m_and_m.

I do so with the understanding that all people should have the right to offer their voice to the chorus whether the result is harmony or dissonance. The worldsong is a colorless dirge without the differences that distinguish us, and it is that difference that should be celebrated not condemned." -Ani Difranco
I think it's gotta be 2. Don't you think you would have noticed when buckling her in? I just feel like it would have been way too loose not to notice it.
