Our older cat Ziggy is now our alarm clock. She starts meowing outside our bedroom door at about 5:30 in the morning, so that we can feed her. It used to be something we could ignore. Now she's not just meowing but scratching at the door. We already put sticky paws on the carpet near the door so that she doesn't scratch at it. I guess we could do the same thing along the whole bottom half of the door, but I'd rather not. And even then she will probably just meow right outside the door.
Any ideas on how to get her to keep to herself until we're actually awake?
Couldn't you put some in her dish at night before bed? Our cat is on prescription wet food as well and we let her free feed throughout the day. The wet food may dry a little, but it's still edible.

I think she would just eat it all right there. If she didn't our other cat would .
Yeah, a timer is the only thing I could suggest, but I don't know if they have ones for wet food. Other than that, earplugs? Never have really found good solutions for this. At least our little fuzzbutt just waits outside the door and doesn't start whining until the door opens.
