Carriage doors for the garage. They will look awesome and will make the garage functional as additional living space, but not the most exciting way to spend nearly 6k.
Cash. Likely waiting until dh's bonus in early 13.
-what's your next big purchase? Hardwood floors on the first floor, about 800sqft +o(
-are you excited about it? SO FREAKING EXCITED. But it's at least a year out. I hate carpet.
-are you paying cash, financing, whoring yourself out for it? A combo, probably cash for most, a little on the CC, tapping into the in-laws for some (they have a standing offer of money to pay for home improvements... we almost never use it, but it's nice to know it's there).
Depends on what you call big - probably new tires for DH's car or a new laptop for me. I hope my laptop chugs along for a while but I'm fearful it may not.
Hopefully neither will cost more than $500, so not sure if that's "big". We don't have anything major planned for a while.
I'm not excited about either, although a new laptop will be nice.
We'll pay for the tires out of savings, might put the laptop on a 0% card depending on where we get it. Otherwise it will be cash.

Next big purchase - cabinets and countertops for our kitchen renovation
Paying cash.
Sort of excited. I mean, it'll be beautiful. But there's also the part of me that wishes we didn't have to do this because I could think of so many other ways to spend all that money! But we bought a foreclosure that needed work (and was priced accordingly, which is how we could afford this location/school district) so it's not like this is a surprise. We've been planning for it for the last three years.

I would love to say a vacation. But sadly we expect our hot water heater to die this year so it'll probably be that. Money will come from our emergency fund.
Other than that, we bought Kid 2 a Cat in the Hat quilt this weekend, in preparation for colder weather.

We're going to Cuba next month. Flights are purchased, but everything else needs to be paid for.
I am ridiculously excited.
We're paying cash. We've actually been talking about how it's going to be weird to have to bring a wad of cash and exchange money there instead of just using ATMs and credit cards like we do on all our other trips. It's like going back in time to traveling in the 90s!
-We are going to Napa/Sonoma in a few weeks and plan on stocking up on wine. -Excited is an understatement, though I have been swamped with work so I haven't thought about it much. -Credit card for points of course and then paying it off. We may even go overboard in an attempt to get to the next spending milestone.
-what's your next big purchase?Well, our next biggest financial obligation is IVF- does that count?
-are you excited about it? yes and no. Excited to have a baby. Not so much of the meds I have to purchase. I think anxiety would be the right word.
-are you paying cash, financing, whoring yourself out for it? I would love to whore myself out for it, however, DH will not let me. ::)So we plan on saving up and paying cash for it.

Next big purchase? A complete sewer line replacement for our house. Least glamorous project ever. Excited? Only in the sense that I'll no longer have to wonder which flush will be the one to make the toilet overflow again. Paying: Onto a credit card and then paid off immediately. I'm grateful for a card with a give figure limit. Bleh.
Next big purchase: having a baby in November? Past that, new (to me) vehicle sometime next fall. Contenders are a Toyota Higlander, Volkswagen sport wagon and Chevy Equinox.
Excited? For baby... Yes (and terrified). For new car... YES! If only we could decide what to buy.
Cash/ finance/ whoring: baby expenses go on credit card, which get paid off at the end of the month. New vehicle will be partially financed. Budget will be $25k or so, we'll put a minimum of $10k down and get about $2k out of my car as a trade in.
1. What constitutes a "big" purchase? I am planning to get an iPhone in two weeks. Something in the 4+ figures, I'm not sure. We have spent a lot of money on house stuff in the past two years (new living room furniture, bathroom reno, new mattress) and are laying low for awhile.
2. I am super excited for my first smart phone!!
3. Whoring, definitely.
If you can wait another month, the iPhone 5 will be out. I'd wait for that.

1. We're 80% through having our basement finished. We're also considering a new car for me, but not sure when in the next year that will happen
2. Very excited about the basement- we'll have dedicated exercise, media, and play rooms again. The car I'm "meh" about. I really like my current car, but our family's needs have outgrown it.
3. Cash for basement. Car will be either cash or cash/financing combo
New washer and dryer (probably this weekend!) insanely excited! Our current set came with the house and are super small and on their last legs. I'm dreamimg of not spending 8 to 10 hours every Sat. doing laundry. CC- 24 months at 0% APR. Will be paid off before the term expires.

Our next big purchase will be a bike that we can put both kids on. We have a trailer, but I would prefer something else, since we live in the city. We are still torn between a few different options.
I am really excited. I can't wait until the baby is old enough to wear a helmet, so we can travel by bicycle.
We have an account dedicated to this and are putting money aside each paycheck, so we can pay cash for it when the time comes.
We just got the plans back from our landscape architect this Saturday. Tress and shrubs to the tune of our 5k 1st wave budget. Extremely excited - I keep staring at the plans and try to picture it. Of course I'm whoring myself out for it, since DH's bonus will pay for it.
