How old is the kid you want to use it for? I have had two and actually liked them both, but for different reasons. I bought an OKtoWake clock that looks like an owl, and it turns green when it's time to get up. It worked really well for my son, and he liked carrying it around with him. www.amazon.com/Onaroo-Night-Portable-Night-Light-Wake/dp/B007LCWG0W
Now that he's older I got a Gro Clock, because it can display the time too. And it has stars that disappear as the night goes on, so if he wakes up at 2, he sees that there are 6 stars left, instead of just looking for light on/light off. So he's not wondering how long it is until morning, you know? I will say that the light on the GroClock is way too bright for DS's small room, so I usually just turn it off altogether because DS isn't scared of the dark. But then you can't really see the stars disappearing. He does LOVE setting the clock with me at night and saying goodnight to the sun, then saying good morning when the sun comes up. So we're not using all the features we could be using, but I think one day we will when he gets older.
He turned 3 in November. We're having a really hard time with him going back to sleep when he wakes up between 4 and 5 and always asks if it's light out. I'm glad to see the first worked well. That's what I was looking at. Thanks!
Yeah, I really loved that owl, and 3 seems like the perfect age for it. I hope it works! Once we started using it, I woke up to the sounds of "Mama! The owl is green!"
We also have the basic turn green when on to wake clock. It's just a round one, but I'm pretty sure it's the same as the owl (same company and such). Got it when they were 3. It's pretty great. There's also displays the time, but I def recommend getting one!

We had that owl too, and I could never get it turn green. I swear I was following the instructions, it just would not set. My daughter used it as a nightlight for years, but it was never functional as an 'Ok to Wake" clock for us. Super cute, though.
Kids Sleep Clock When DD moved from her crib to a toddler bed right before 3, I was worried about her getting up at a crazy early time so we got her this clock (in pink) & it worked like a charm. I think the key is keeping the clock where he can't reach it & mess with it. I had a friend & her son figured out he could mess with it/unplug it at a young age & she never had much luck with it. We still use it in DD's room along with the OK to Wake clock.
