My list of things I can tolerate on any given day is: caesar salad, Panera mac and cheese, McD's sausage and cheese biscuit (not sausage or cheese alone, like you, but I can stomach plain biscuits sometimes), lemonade, sweet tea and
My guess is you need more calories. Have you tried smaller meals, more frequently? Have you talked to your doc and gotten meds? Are you throwing up enough that you're dehydrated and need an IV?

Can you choke down an Ensure? I'm honestly not sure how they taste, but I know that is a go to when someone isn't able to get in enough calories or nutrients and is becoming malnourished. Also-- could you be dehydrated? I know I get dehydrated if I don't eat enough (which is very, very rare, haha). Maybe sipping a gatorade or powerade might help get your electrolytes back up.
Also, I just need to add that the Starbucks sausage egg and cheese sandwich might be one of my favorite things to eat, ever.

spunbutterfly I don't see why Ensure wouldn't be safe during pregnancy... it's just like a milkshake with some extra protein and vitamins thrown in. But check with your OB/GYN if you want to be sure.
You could also start taking an iron supplement on its own. They absorb the best when taken with orange juice, and not dairy. Idk if you'll be able to stomach that if your prenatals are making you gag but it's worth a shot if you think you're light headed because of it. I'm on the mobile so I don't know how far along you are but at some point your provider will do a CBC to check for anemia but may be worth asking about now if your having symptoms.

I guess my reticence to just getting that diclegis scrip is I'm not generally nauseous. Just lack of appetite and my stomach ejects food immediately. Do the meds help with that?
I do small bites every 2 hours or so.
Yeah, I'm not sure what the doc will recommend, but I'd definitely talk to them about meds. I was nauseated all the time- like being sea sick and drunk at the same time- and threw up everything. It wasn't until about week 16 with meds that I even got to this list.
Needing calories to keep going with your day is a real problem if you're unable to keep much down. The Ensure suggestion is a good one, with the caveat that it has a very distinct taste, which may or may not trigger your sensitive stomach. Boost is slightly better, IME, and if you drink it super cold, sometimes I could fool my body for a bit. That said, after you throw up all of the flavors they become rather unpalatable.

It sounds more caloric related than iron-related at this stage of the game. Have you tried gummy vitamins? It is the only thing I can take first tri without throwing up. I would try instant breakfast, ensure, boost, whatever you can stomach. The diglegis has helped me eat more... I lost 5 pounds immediately from the nausea. I still have to force myself to eat, but as long as I keep it small, frequent meals I keep it down.

Gummy prenatals saved my life. They're good! and I didn't get the puke burps or the shudders from them. I'm out of the woods on mor nine sickness (hallelujah!) and my bottle is almost gone and I think I should start taking the gel caps next since I already own them. But I don't wanna!

You poor thing. How far along are you?
You've probably tried everything, but do you take your prenatal at night? I found/find that to be the best way for me to handle them. Also, perhaps switching prenatals to something milder on your system, (I take Rainbow light, which has ginger in it, and probiotics) if thats safe/allowed/etc.
I'd try to look up good food combos for iron absorption. For instance, can you stomach dark chocolate? If you're saying you are able to eat oranges, pair that with a bit of dark chocolate (Higher percentage of cacao) and it's a good combo for iron absorption.
Additionally, can you do smoothies? I ate a crapton of those when I couldn't do anything else. I made one with almond butter, greek yogurt, and frozen strawberries a lot. Also, if you can handle peanut butter, I'd honestly just eat a spoonful of it every couple of hours. At least it's something in your system. Small, frequent snacks will help you feel less dizzy at least.
I'd request blood work if you really think you're iron deficient. I had to supplement with extra iron pills for a bit myself.

spunbutterfly that's some bs! No carbs or chocolate?? For shame, fetus.
Maybe try a very small smoothie when you are feeling brave. I'm glad my suggestion did not induce vomiting lol (I'm so sorry!!!) Do you feel up to making your own popsicles? If so, you might research recipes that contain iron, and additionally some for nausea since you're having a hard time keeping food down. If you want instant popsicles and feel like spending some cash, buy a zoku. www.zokuhome.com/products/single-quick-pop-maker They are small portions so great for right now when you have no appetite, and then for later use, they are kid friendly portions.
Ugh Spun I know your pain. I had the shakes from weeks 8-10 because I was puking up everything including water.
What helped me was this cold water soluble beef gelatin it only has minimal iron but it does have protein, and I eat a lot of carrots. Carrots and edamame have been saving me. Well when it was really bad slurpees too, I think it still was carbonated but since it was frozen I drank it slower and that helped.
I ate a lot of sour candies/sugar (smarties, lemon drops and jolly ranchers)
Also have you tried different vitamins? So so many made me sick when I was pregnant with DD, but my doctor ended up prescribing some for me that were generally well tolerated she said...I have been able to take those at night ever since my first pregnancy and they don't make me feel terrible...and my iron levels are much better than they were when I first went in
