How do you clean the grout in a ceramic shower? Not the caulk. The grout in our shower is looking very dark in some areas, dingy really. I'm unsure how to clean it and wondering what tricks you have.
That's DH's job. Seriously; the only shower grout we have is downstairs in "his" shower, so he cleans it.
What he does is spray the whole area with Tilex, leave for a bit, then during his shower, scrub with a scrub pad. Sometimes I think he uses an old toothbrush to get stubborn spots.
We're doing a tiled shower in our master bath in the new house, and I'm not looking forward to the cleaning part. I'm all for the one-piece molded tub/shower thingys; so much easier to clean!
I bought a grout brush and specific grout cleaner at Home Depot to clean the grout in the kitchen at our old place. It was embarrassingly easy. It made me feel like a slacker for not having done it before.
This has always been a mystery to me. The only time my grout looks good is if we pay someone to come blast it and/or whatever the cleaning lady does. Grout is the bane of my existence. I was so happy when we moved and the kitchen had butcher block counters-no grout! Woo hoo.

Can you do marble slabs? That's what we have in our shower and small tiles on the floor. Makes cleaning so much easier!

We haven't actually selected the tile yet, so possibly. Will keep that in mind, thanks!

I've been working on the grout on my floors. The grout cleaner had too many chemicals and warnings on the label for me to use while pregnant so I've been using 1/3 baking soda mixed with 2/3 water. I slap it on the grout and then spray it with vinegar mixed with water. When it's done bubbling, I scrub it with a brush. It works pretty well, but it can be a PITA to clean the baking soda up after. I know you are not supposed to use vinegar on all surfaces though, so I'd test it out on a small spot first.
