As long as it didn't break the skin she should be ok. I would just put ice on it tonight if it looks bruised or swollen. I'm sorry she got bit. My DD was bit a lot at that age too. She thankfully never started biting other kids but I was worried she would learn that behavior and start.
That sounds pretty typical to me. My DD got bit multiple times in her toddler room, and it never caused any issues. I'm pretty relaxed about that stuff. Recently, she took off her shoe and hit another kid for stealing her book. Toddlers are wild animals, man.
Biting is a pretty normal thing. It sucks. DD1 has always been the one that was bitten, but 1 day a couple weeks ago, she bit one of her friends. I now feel the shame of my kid being the biter.
DS got bit a few times by another boy. One day he bit him back on the face. I felt worse about that than when I was the one receiving the incident reports.

She wasn't totally clear if it had broken the skin, she just said it was pinched. I'm guessing it's probably not that bad though. I guess just look for infection if it did break the skin? (FWIW, daycare requires all vaccinations, no exceptions.)
If it did break the skin I would call the pedi right away and see about antibiotics. Mouths are gross and I would worry about bacteria, but if they said it was just a pinch I wouldn't worry. Our daycare is the same way about vaccines. I love that they have that policy.
I got a call last week that Xavier had been bitten while playing in the housekeeping area. When I got to school they had me sign an incident report and were apologetic. I laughed and said it happens and I totally understand. The teachers thanked me several times saying a lot of parents were not understanding.
C has been bitten twice. Sounds like they did all the right things. I am probably a terrible mother because each time I gave a silent thank you to the powers that be that she was not the biter.

Me too. All I care about is if DS instigated it. He did bite a couple times, and I can totally understand a couple of times that he did get bit because he definitely instigated it.
swizz-just watch for swelling/redness. We never discussed the bite with DS unless he brought it up to us-and then talked about how we should use words, not our teeth, when we're upset about something-even if he got bit so it would drive home the fact that biting isn't appropriate for him to do.
I can't believe your kid went so long WITHOUT being bitten!
It goes in fits and spurts in my kid's class but yeah, it's totally normal behavior. We refer to daycare (jokingly) as "baby fight club"*
*disclaimer- our daycare is great and properly licensed and accredited, and is in no way facilitating an actual fight club
This is only her third week in daycare.
Oh, well I remember how traumatic is was the first time it happened. I'm pretty sure I posted something similar here! But totally normal behavior. And some day (I know this from experience) your kid may be the biter rather than the one being bitten, and in that case you will thank whichever God you happen to believe in that the daycare doesn't tell the other parent who did the biting.

Yup. DH always gets bent out of shape when something like biting happens, but toddlers are just this side of savages. It happens. Sounds like your daycare handled it perfectly.

Although, daycare won't tell you, if your child is old enough you will know. And you will know when it happens to any other kid, and who bit them. Nothing can be kept secret in daycare.

Okay, upon further examination it does look like it broke the skin.
Should I call the pedi in the morning?
I would at least give them a call and see what they suggest.

I would just make sure it's well-cleaned, use some kind of antiseptic ointment like Neosporin, cover with a band-aid, and keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get infected. I get that mouths are gross, but if daycare washed it well immediately after, then it's really no different than any other small scrape or cut that breaks the skin, and kids get these all the time.
It doesn't hurt to call the pedi's office/nurses line and ask though.

Sounds like what our DC does. E got bit a couple times, probably accidental. I mean, the kids in his room are about his age, maybe a little younger up to around 18 months so they don't really know any better. I did wonder if it was the same kid both times but who knows. E seemed fine so I didn't think much of it.
