The first Wednesday of the month at noon and this is pretty much the standard for any place I've lived. But that's only three tornado/refinery accident areas, Corpus Christi, TX, Clarksville, TN, and now Savannah

Ours go off daily at noon. I've lived in a more rural area where the same thing happened (signaled lunch for the people out in fields or at the grain elevator) and I'm not sure if that's the case here (I am on the cusp of a suburban/rural area where I work).
Otherwise, I think they actually test them on the first Wednesday of the month?

My hometown (3 hours away from here) does it every Friday at noon.
The city I live in now just randomly does them whenever they feel like it, usually once a month or so. It's weird and always catches us off guard, wondering if it's real or a test.
