Does anyone have any insight into scheduling a repeat C-section? DS2 is due on June 15 so we can schedule the c-section June 8 (Wednesday), 9, or 10. Any insight or concerns I should consider? Not about the c-sections it's not elective I have to have it.
I had mine on a Tuesday and agree a weekday is good. I had a noon time slot which I really liked because I had time to relax and sleep in before going in. I was so pregnant I wasn't very hungry lol. So excited for you
My due date with DD was July 16. They said we could schedule the c-section any time from July 9 on. I chose July 9. I was glad I did because that summer was ridiculously hot. In the week leading up to her birth it was over 100 four days. You might have some heat considerations like that. Otherwise, I might go for whichever day makes it easier for the people you want to visit you.

I had my repeat c/s on a Friday and then they wanted to keep me at the hospital till Monday because of something about staffing, but I begged and they discharged me on Sunday. If I had known it would be an issue I would have def. not chosen a Friday.
DS2 was a scheduled repeat c-section because my OB's malpractice insurance wouldn't allow VBAC. I went in exactly one week before he was due and besides being pushed back several hours, it was honestly a pretty easy process with getting prepped and off to the OR. I know that sounds weird because it's surgery but my delivery with DS1 was a nightmare.
ETA: I didn't have a choice of days but I would recommend as early in the morning as you can get. I was scheduled to go in at 5am but they were already so behind that DS2 was born closer to 11am.

Definitely earlier in the week is better. By Sunday the hospital was kind of a ghost town with nurses who were subs that were pulled in from other places and didn't know the ropes as well as the regulars I'd had in the first couple days.
I don't think it really matters too much, as long as your have your own doctor on any of those days. You might just want to have the baby out and here earlier, and Weds. is nice b/c you can be home on Saturday if all is well.
I also say go for morning. One of mine was 7:30 and one was 11:30. I would prefer not later than 11:30, but that was still fine for me even with the fasting, and we didn't have to get up super early. Remember you generally have to be there 2 hours prior.
Thank you ladies! I think I will go with the 8th. The dr pointed out that the closer we get to the due date the more likely to go into labor. Between that and your points about hospital staffing on the weekend I think Wednesday would be best!
