What are appropriate first date topics?

I feel like I have never been on a date before.
What is appropriate to talk about? I don't want to go b/c I know I am going to say something dumb like I always do.

I usually talk about my job, my family, my hobbies, etc.

I don't get too personal in terms of past relationships, my current sex life, my past sex life, etc.

My separation almost always came up on first dates, so your divorce might.

Like bully said- job, family, hobbies. Sports come up a lot, but that's because I like baseball and football.

For me, traveling comes up a lot because that's what I love to do most in life. But you can talk about anything as long as it's not too deep. What do you like to do for enjoyment? Talk about that.

My sister and BIL wanted to fix me up with him so they invited us both to their house for dinner on Saturday night. He used to work with my BIL. And since we met my BIL has told me that he wants him as a BIL (meaning I should marry him )

Haha yeah now I can't talk about you on my date either because he will be all like, ooh that chick in a po-dunk town who viewed my profile? I don't know if he'll be able to see b/c my profile is hidden. But maybe he can see I looked just not see anything when he clicks on it... I wonder about this b/c I look at people's profiles sometimes but mine is hidden. I don't think you'd be able to tell though b/c it won't show if a woman views another women's profile (I tested this before!)
