I need to get organized about getting a will together now that we're expecting baby #2. A coworker mentioned it may be less expensive to go through a paralegal. Has anyone hired a lawyer or paralegal in the area to draft a will for you? How much do I need to budget for this? We don't have a complicated financial situation so I imagine it should be fairly straightforward.
I used someone in Bellevue/Kirkland area - can get you the name if you'd like. We had a legal benefit through work so it only cost $50 so I don't know how much it is normally.

It wouldn't hurt to give them a call. Go ahead and let me know the name. Thanks!
Yes. I do estate planning. We charge a flat rate for a will package which includes the will, durable power of attorney, health care power of attorney, hippa forms, living will, and personal property memorandum. For a very straight forward will I usually charge a flat rate of $500 per individual or $850 for a married couple.
We are in the process of this too, through the legal benefit offered by my job. I think the package we are doing would normally be $1600, and includes the wills etc and also a revocable trust.

Yes, that's consistent with a joint revocable trust package for our office as well.
