The home that sparked national attention over reports of it being infested with powerful demonic activity, leading to the purported possession of nearly an entire family, has been torn down, the Indiana Star reported.
The razing of the Gary, Indiana property followed its purchase by the host and executive producer of "Ghost Adventures," Zak Bagans in early 2014.
Bagans said he now plans to release a documentary on the residence's haunting later this year which will reveal the reason behind its demolition.
"Something was inside that house that had the ability to do things that I have never seen before — things that others carrying the highest forms of credibility couldn't explain either," he told the IndyStar via email. "There was something there that was very dark yet highly intelligent and powerful."
One of its last residents was mother-of-three, Latoya Ammons, who sought religious, medical and law enforcement help after allegedly experiencing a series of disturbing events inside. Those included family members levitating, speaking in tongues, convulsing and acting extremely violent.
Some of the incidents were backed up by members of the local police department, as well as workers with the state's Department of Child Services.
In one such incident, one of Ammons’ children was described as walking backwards up a wall inside of a hospital room, flipping into the air and landing on his feet. In another instance, at their doctor’s office, medical staff reported seeing one of the boys being lifted and thrown into a wall “without nobody touching him,” according to a Department of Child Services report.
After residing in the rental home from November 2011 until May 2012, the family was able to move to Indianapolis. The horrifying events were said to have then stopped for them.
From this article: "When the family moved, the paranormal activity seemed to have stopped. The house's new owners haven't reported anything strange happening."

Occam's Razor, people.
The end sentence is weird because the house's new owners tore it down.

Does anyone else read stories like this, and WANT to say "there's no scientific evidence for this, you're being ridiculous," but you stop yourself from thinking it, just in case paranormal activity is a real thing, and it decides to prove you wrong? Is this just me?
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

I have never seen anything convincing from that Ghost Adventures show. That guy is really dramatic about his evidence but it seems like nothing ever really happens. I wonder if his documentary on this house will just be more of the same.
The show Ghost Hunters, especially in the first few seasons had some honestly spooky stuff though. I found the two guys much more credible too. They weren't always straight to OMG DEMONS1!!!1!

This is where I'm at every time I read a story that G.A is involved in. I just automatically dismiss the story as fake.

The GH episode in the lighthouse was straight up fucked up. Terrifying.

There was one where something ran at and knocked over one of the camera man leaving him unable to even speak. You could tell he was freaked out. He ended up quitting after that. There was also one at The Stanley hotel where... The bald guy, I forget his name is sleeping, and you see the closet door open by itself and then a drinking glass on the nightstand suddenly breaks. That wakes him up and he makes note of the time and then he just goes back to sleep!!!
A part of me wishes I was in the area to check it out. My Mom started my small obsession with the supernatural when I was a kid, we would look up local "haunted" locations and check them out.
Now, I'm chicken shit when something goes bump and I'm by myself!
For some reason, a particular episode of "The Moth Radio Hour" has stuck with me since I heard it. It was right before Halloween and they were dispelling scary stories. One of which was a haunted house.
Turned out this house had a gas leak or something that went undetected for years and basically lightly poisoned the inhabitants and caused them to have hallucinations and what not.
I'm going to look for this story...it has to be archived somewhere.
ETA: I think it was actually "This American Life" and I can't listen, but I'm pretty sure this is the episode.

My mother used to claim her grandmother's ghost haunted her house when she was little. I was always cynical but didn't want to tick off any ghosts, just in case. :-)
Then in high school my best friend appeared in my bedroom in the middle of the night. Even my dog saw her. I was kind of freaked, but thought it might have been a loud noise that woke me and I was seeing things half dreaming.
The next morning I got a call that she had died the day before. If that had happened after I knew, I might still be thinking it was grief and stress that made me see/feel those things.
I'm a pragmatic person, but will never be convinced that wasn't her spirit visiting me to say goodbye.
DH and I stayed in the room that Jason from GH stayed in at the Stanley Hotel where his glass imploded on the nightstand, and where a ghost is supposed to grab women in the closet. Not a damn thing happened for us. I stayed in that tiny little closet all told for about 30 minutes and I'm really insulted that he did not deem my ass fit enough for grabbing. I mean, it's big enough, there's plenty to grab.

Hugs, wackadoo. I'm sorry you lost your friend. When I was 12, my best friend was sleeping over and started crying that she had seen her grandfather and he was saying goodbye. The next morning we found out he had died right around that time.

Similar story in high school when I got onto the school bus and saw a guy friend who waved at me from his normal back row. 2 minutes later I found out he died the night before.
I literally turned around and said 'no...he's right there' and of course he was gone.
