I'm confused, because season 2 is the one about bowe bergdhal right? shit I read all this wrong. I'm very tired.
The mention of Asia threw me off too, I was thinking there was a 2nd season about Adnan I didn't know about! But yes, season 2 is about the military dude.
I think I'm one of very few people that is enjoying season 2. I think the military stuff is fascinating. I enjoyed hearing about (in this episode) how we recover people taken captive.

I kinda think it's interesting but there's no "whodunit" factor like with Season 1. I mean, we all know he abandoned his post, so there's no question there.

I don't think I would have kept listening, but I ended up with like 4h of tedious work to do and I kind of just zoned out and listened. I liked the last couple of episodes best -- getting a sense for what this guy is really like was interesting to me.
As a military brat who grew up to become a military spouse, I'm also enjoying this season. Though I can't seem to get any actual military people I know interested. I was fascinated by this week's episode until the end when we learned that he did all this because he thought his boss was a dick. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around that.

I just finished the latest episode. This is pretty much the one I've been waiting for and it was exactly how I thought it would be. He experienced what 99% of American military members experienced while serving (assholes, egos, and bumps in the road) and couldn't handle it. Thought he knew better than the thousands of people above him making decisions. My H has a million stories that are remarkably similar to Bowe's, but somehow he managed to not leave his post and create a disaster that may have gotten people killed.
I can't stand this dude.
Yes!! This is exactly it. I'll keep hate listening though.

Well there have been a couple mini episodes of Serial this week covering Adnan's hearing. I thought that was what the OP was about at first, too. I haven't listened to this week's regular episode yet.
