I'm sorry, I have been there. I was down 20 at 16 weeks, and with the introduction of Zofran I was able to not lose much more. The farthest I got down was 22 and was threatened with hospitalization- have you talked to your doctor? Are you keeping down water? Are you on meds?
I was hesitant to take things but it was essential at 11 weeks because I was non stop vomitting and couldn't keep water down. 2 ER trips for hydration and 3 other meds later my doc gave me something that's not recommended for pregnancy because the other choice was surgically seating a pump.
I'm still down 16lbs, which means that I've lost more weight compared to the weight of the baby/ water/ placenta, but he keeps growing and gaining weight, so the doctors are (mostly) okay with it, other than reminding me to eat all the time.
Aww, I'm sorry, that sounds awful. If it makes you feel any better, he won't remember this forever. I was 3.5 when my mom was pregnant with my sister, and she threw up multiple times per day until 20 ish weeks. I thought it was a fun game, and any time she got up off the couch I asked "are we going to throw up again?!" I don't remember any of it, but my mom now thinks it's funny. He's just copying you because he loves you, and when you stop throwing up, he'll pick something else to mimic (my DS now grunts every time he sits down or stands up... Oops!)
mary I am actually well-hydrated this time around. It wasn't like that my first pregnancy, so that's difference and the vomiting is slowing down too, which is why I think I'm not losing as much. I took Zofran the last time but the wicked constipation wasn't worth the not vomiting. For me, Zofran felt like perfume on a skunk. My body still wanted to vomit, it just couldn't. But thank you for always replying and caring. It's really appreciated.
Yeah, for me being pregnant just feels like nausea all the time. Zofran just makes it so that I can function without throwing up all over. After nearly throwing up all over a coworker in a meeting and running to the bathroom through my open plan office loudly gagging, it was the last straw for me.
One of the girls on my local who had hyperemesis said that it only look a couple of hours after her c section and suddenly she wasn't nauseated anymore. I'm holding out hope for that in 30 days.
