I can't decide if I'm especially hard on mine or what, but for the 2nd time I've noticed that the side of my channel setting has a decent gash in it. I already had to have them re-build it once when it got all scraped up.
It's a flush fit white gold set. I usually take them off once I get home and change clothes. I don't wear them if I'm cleaning or DIY, etc. But dang if they don't seem to get beat up looking.
Yes, I am really rough on mine. I was missing the smallest diamond from the pave set side stones last year. A couple weeks after I got it back, I noticed it was cracked on the other side. I have had it for almost 10 years, so there's that.
It's 18k, which the higher the karat, the softer the gold. If I end up replacing it ever, I'll definitely look into platinum.

Mine aren't bent at all, almost 9 years since we got married. They're nothing fancy, a solitaire and channel-set wedding band, white gold. I only take them off to shower and sleep.
Mine are white gold, and after 6 years of daily wear, they are looking pretty dull these days. And scratched. I think it's about time they get dipped. Eventually, I would like them reset in a slightly different style and in platinum, but i'm not in any hurry.
Kind of. I knew that I would be hard on anything on my hands, so I helped design my engagement ring with inset stones (only 3 of them), and my wedding band is just a band. Because my rings are rather large and sturdy, I usually only wear the band, I save the e-ring for special occasions and wear it alone. I also take my ring off for workouts, because lifting weights would scratch it up pretty quickly.
Mine are platinum. We invested in the metal because I talk with my hands, am clumsy, and slap my hands on a table to make a point. I'm hard on my rings.
Mine are platinum, and are holding up well. They're starting to develop the expected 'patina' now that they're 5/6 years old.
I take them off at night/to shower/and wear only my plain band (I have a channel set on one side, and a plain 'braided' band on the other) when working with my hands. You can definitely tell they're not brand new. I think gold is more malleable, so you'd expect some more dinging? But if it seems more than reasonable wear, is there a local jeweler you could talk to about what might be causing it?

It's similar to this:
Yes and my ring is almost identical to this! Is this style defective?

Mind seem to being doing fine. I get them dip every year to polish them up. I have a solitaire and simple band with no diamonds on it. I never take them off so I figured the more stuff around the band the more likelihood of me destroying it.

Mine are platinum. I've had them for 11 years and pretty much never take them off. I think they're in really good shape, especially with how rough I am on them. The only thing I've had to do was get them stretched after DS2 was born. I had to accept that even my fingers will never be as skinny as they were when I got married.
I have an estate ring from the 1940's. It is a very delicate setting. I actually cracked the band in half in the back and one of the side prongs is bent out of shape. I don't wear it anymore because I am petrified something will happen to it.
I have taken my rings off exactly one time (delivery of DD) and they are just fine.
They are eternity settings so I am a little surprised. My engagement ring is platinum and it bends to an oval, but otherwise they are in great shape still 8+ years later.
I've had to fix my e-ring a couple of times because the jeweler did a bad solder job when I originally had it sized. It has bent and broke twice by just normal banging into things. The stone and prongs are fine.
I used to be better about getting them cleaned and taking care of them but now I don't even always remove for things I used to like showering or washing dishes.
I've had to have a prong on my ering fixed twice. The fist time is because I caught it on the rim of the washing machine and bent it. I can't even remember what I did the second time.
I also lost a diamond from my wedding band once when I caught my ring on a lever style door knob and about ripped it off my finger.
I lost a side stone (purple sapphire) a couple of years ago while digging around in the pocket of my skinny jeans and I can see some minor scratching on the bands, particularly the wedding band which is a plain knife edge ring, so any marks show.
My rings are palladium, which is an affordable alternative to platinum if anyone goes the custom jewelry route. They are whiter and don't get the same tin-like patina, although not quite as scratch resistant as platinum.
