Whatever I can keep down without pain. So most likely mashed sweet potatoes, mashed peas (don't ask I got hook in the U.K.), beans (black or pinto, mashed to a refried bean like consistency). Maybe I'll even try some bread or fruit.
Pancakes and eggs Stuffed mushrooms/zucchini boats/peppers Pizza or calzones Pasta with vodka sauce, oil and garlic, vegetables, carbonara, mushroom bolognese, alfredo, etc. Lasagna Spanakopita Falafel Pad Thai with tofu Risotto Vegetable soup/stew Zucchini or chickpea fritters Chickpea curry Quinoa, polenta, or rice with sauteed vegetables Vegetable stir-fry/lo mein/fried rice Zucchini and ricotta sandwiches Loaded baked potatoes or potato soup (no bacon) Vegetable pot pie/shepherd's pie Black bean burgers Cornbread with creamy black beans Black bean and sweet potato burritos Quiche Cheese plate Braised coconut spinach and chickpeas

MH did too! I didn't care for them but he loved them.
We had a London Olympics viewing party - I made fish and chips, and meat pies. I called a local pub to order mushy peas and they asked how many people I was serving and I said six (figuring they were going to give me those small plastic containers, like you get with dip). I went to pick it up and they gave me six PINTS. Ugh.

LOL. I taught Boyfriend how to make my lemon rosemary crock pot roast chicken with baby red potatoes last night. Just because I'm stuck eating bland mush doesn't mean he should be. But I think we forgot it in the fridge this morning so we will have to cook it tomorrow.
We always had Ellio's frozen pizza or tuna fish sandwiches (swimming in mayo, and no "fancy extras" like celery or herbs) for lunch when I was a kid. Blech.
We didn't order pizza all that often. But my sister's birthday is in March, so if her birthday party fell on a Lenten Friday we ordered pizza for her and her friends. MH's family always ordered pizza on Fridays but I don't think that was specifically a Lent thing
We were considering a Lenten Friday night for our wedding since it was cheaper, but I have an observant Catholic family so I was hesitant to pull the trigger. I thought maybe we could get a dispensation from our priest (friend of the family) ... I asked the Catholic Weddings board back on TheKn0t and everyone there acted like I had just drop-kicked a puppy. These were people who attended Latin Mass wearing veils, so in their eyes I was going to hell for even considering it. We wound up picking the first Saturday after Easter, which saved us a bundle on our florist bill because the church still had the Easter flowers up on the altar.
