Women just need to try harder to accept babies with microcephaly... and other severe birth defects, and fetuses with an incompatible with life diagnosis, and pregnancy complications that will kill them, and pregnancies resulting from rape, etc.
Women just need to learn to accept these things!
I'm sure these legislators would have no problem adopting a severely disabled child, right? It's easy; all you need is God!

Of course! Since this country is bursting at the seams with resources and support for families--especially families dealing with birth defects, illness, etc., there's no reason to make any other decision!

Fuck them! And Chris Smith is my fucking representative. I've started volunteering on a campiagn for a woman looking to unseat him and now I'm going to find the time, money and energy to do even more.
So in our next budget these same Congressmen are proposing very significant increases in our foreign aid packages to Zika-impacted countries to help these families women take care of their babies, right?

So they'll be adopting the children once their born, right? I mean it's "not all that bad" so they should by their own logic adopt and raise at least one or two children that are impacted by the zika virus.
Oh wait.. No, no they won't. But hey nice try dickheads.
And who is going to pay for the medical costs associated with caring for a child with microcephaly?
Not just medical costs - LIFE costs. We were just talking in another thread about women not having a choice but to work and the related daycare costs. What's the plan for extended care for these children (and their parents) when the moms have to go back to work and they are beyond the realm of care for most daycares? In home nursing care for medically fragile children is several hundred dollars per day if not more and there's not a lot of insurance or public funding for it.
