I love that we have a nanny but I sometimes wish we had daycare for this reason. Sometimes I just want to be alone in the house! I would feel weird if I wanted to nap if the nanny was here.

Yes. I'm still paying for their day to be in school, so they get to be in school.
In fact, Good Friday is the only day of the year that we have a holiday at work but daycare is still open.
Every year MIL tries to get us to celebrate Easter on Good Friday. BIL can't do Sunday so she wants us on Friday. Every year I tell her no. I'll do Saturday but I'm not about to give up my one day a year where I get a free day.
Absofreakinglutely. In fact, that is one of the drawbacks of working at my kids' preschool now. We're open when normal places are closed for holidays, so I lost my free days. Now I will have to schedule a vacation day to get a free day. I may pick them up early, but I have things to do that cannot be accomplished with four kids in tow.
Late to the party but a resounding YES I still take her! We pay whether she's there or not (except a vacation week) so she goes unless I'm off because we planned something special of course. Honestly it's one of the few selfish things that I do that I don't feel guilty about - because it's school!

Yup! I felt guilty the first time but now I pretty much have an internal countdown for my "free days". One time she got sick on a day my office was closed for a holiday and daycare was open. That was a really sad day for all involved.
I used to have Friday's off and still took DS to daycare every day. He had way more fun with his friends there than he would have hanging out with me cleaning the house and running errands. I miss my alone time now that I am working Fridays again.
