My kids go to a home daycare with a 16m old and a newborn. Between the daycare lady, her mom and the other two kids my girls were given stuffed owls, lunch boxes, books, coloring books, animal crackers, teddy Graham's, suckers, and cloth bags. This is insane right? Last year she'd only been watching my girls a couple weeks and no presents were exchanged so I didn't get anything for anyone. Now I'm feeling really cheap but since when was Valentine's Day a major gift event?? I had planned on getting some candy but ran out of time and figured the other kids are so little it doesn't matter.
The other kids didn't give my kids Christmas presents so this is extra weird to me.
I felt like a slacker when I got some of the valentine's from E's DC class, haha. We just bought a box of Star Wars ones and a couple other people did too. But a couple people did things like bubbles, a toy, a pouch, etc. One of them even had applesauce and a couple other things in it! I figured since the kids were all maybe 8-18 months at the most, they wouldn't care anyways, haha. Oh well, maybe we will get more creative next year. But yeah, that is a LOT of stuff!
Do you ever feel like life is in fast forward with your kids? This week has made me a bit weepy. We potty trained X. He had his first dental visit AND we got him enrolled in preschool for the fall.
fashionx , my nieces' middle names are Tonantzin and Citlalli. They both kick ass! They are American Mestiza. Like all the kid in the family we wanted their names to reflect their full heritage.
I love it, great names!
My dad is Mexican and is named Xavier, so he was set on having an X name for his first born. So my name is both for the family heritage and so we could have matching initials.
I have to go pick up 80 cases of Girl Scout cookies tomorrow. Why do I take the role of cookie leader instead of guilting another parent into it. Like leading the troop isn't enough?
@kirkette That must have been a great instructor to have, even if you don't draw!
I admire really good illustrators, I can draw the figures pretty well but I gave up on faces and hands. Feet are sort of blocky shaped too haha. But, I can fairly accurately freehand a French curve!

This reminds me I need to find out who I know with a girl scout. Time to stock my freezer.

When will you be able to have your garage back?
My parlor. Garage isn't temperature controlled. Mid March. Assuming we sell all these cookies. Which we better. I am getting these girls to sell outside a grocery store in Kansas in February. Those cookies better fly of the card table.
