I'm shocked. I know it's shocking any time anyone dies young, but I can't seem to put together a thought with this one. We definitely didn't have similar viewpoints, but I've always had respect for him.

It's grossing me out that everyone is making this all about politics and replacing him 5 minutes after the news broke.

I'm sad for his family. But I can't muster personal sorrow.

I'm sorry for those in his life he was close to, I'm very sorry for RBG as they were BFFs, but for most people, this is definitely about politics.

Of course it's shocking and I'm sad for his family, but his was a high-profile and vital job. It's natural for people to start questioning, "What will happen now?" The currently polarized state of politics is pretty awful, and this highlights people's anxiety.

I admit, part of me felt a little icky about thinking of it all so fast, because a man has just died, but considering the significance of his position and its current political ramifications, it's kind of natural.
