Boo to a sick kid on what should be a freebie day. He didn't have a fever this morning (only 99) but was coughing all night so I kept him home. I also didn't want to get him out of bed and get ready, so part of it is laziness.
Now I have to be the referee between the 3 yo and the dog today.
preppy, how are things with your MIL? I may have missed more of the story.
I really want to get to Ikea today, so I can drop DD off at Smaland and buy a few things I need. The snow is making me second guess that decision, but I also feel lame for staying home all day just because there are like 1.5 inches out...
It's okay. She's been okay today and yesterday. She's just not being understanding at all that being out of our element with a baby can cause anxiety and I have felt judged for my parenting choices. Like I know I am not breezy but this is our kid and she feels the need to comment on everything. DH talked to her two days ago and that has helped. DH has been diving a lot though so it's been me and MIL at the house with S more often than I would prefer. DH must have realized that cause when he gets back from diving this morning I am going for a sugar scrub at the spa that he booked for me Saturday. So that will be nice.
It was supposed to snow here annnnyyyy minute so I decided to keep the kids home since I didn't want to have to run back and get them. I haven't seen a flake.

I got to Target at 810 for Valentine's clearance. It was a bust! All I wanted was some clearance chocolate but most of it was stacked up in carts and I didn't want to dig through it. So I bought Easter M&Ms. Easter candy is my absolute favorite of the year.
Does anyone else feel unjustified MOTN rage towards their husband when they have a baby? Right now DD2 sleeps right next to me in the RNP and stopped night pooping over a month ago so I just grab her when she needs to eat MOTN and then put her back. When I look at my husband snoring sometimes I want to shake him.
Yup. Especially when he says something stupid in the morning like "how did you sleep?" POORLY asshole, I was up 3x with the baby plus your snoring.
That being said, DD's sleep has been awesome lately. 0-1 wakeups per night for the last week. I hope this is a trend!!
The last two nights I stayed up until 11:00 and I am so tired now. Why oh why did I do that? I know my kid's going to wake up at 5:00 so why do I torture myself.
For the first time ever, I tried just setting him up with the iPad on the couch while I tried to get a bit more sleep. It didn't work. So tired![
I do this almost every damn day. I don't know why I keep touring myself. DS wakes up every.day at 6:30 on the dot. And DD wakes at least once. And DH snores. WHY do I stay up until 10:30-11ish watching crappy TV and GBCNing?

DS2 has had horrible sleep lately. To top it all off he keeps biting me in the MOTN. What happened to his 8 hour stretches? I would kill for at least 4. Blah
Before I had even finished opening my bedroom door (it was my day to sleep in) DS yelled "MOMMY I want to play in the snoooooow!" Alrighty then. I'll spend 20 minutes getting your snow stuff on, just to have you decide 15 minutes in that you're done.

@starry, yes to the MOTN rage. That's why I slept in a twin bed in the nursery for the first 3 months. If I didn't see DH snoozing seat next to me it helped my mood a lot.
When DD got to 1 wake up a night I moved back to our bed, but still just crashed in the nursery after the wake up.

Was the Valentines candy 50% off at least?
I am debating going to see what they have, but won't bother if it is only 30% off :-p
I'm debating whether I should try to control my annoyance at a wedding we are dealing with this month. Groom is H's co-worker and friend, his second marriage, her first.
First, we were invited to a small (~50 people) ceremony at 1 pm on a Saturday, and a similarly small dinner reception that same day at 6 pm. So, huge gap between the two, it's half an hour from our house so we'd spend two hours commuting to and from if we went home in between.
Then we got an invitation to what is apparently the BIG reception, in April. Also in town.
Then, over the weekend, H tells me that he has a freaking dinner party to go to tonight. Apparently one of their bosses is hosting a full-out dinner party to celebrate the upcoming wedding.
This is crazy, right? I was annoyed by the first two things, but now I am approaching BEC with the third. FWIW these are very nice people that I generally like.
Brie: tha is a lot of wedding celebrating. I vote tha you are obligated to go to one of the 3 events. I vote dinner at the bosses house and call it good.

Brie so they're having two receptions? If that's the case I would just pick one reception to attend, not both. (unless you want to go to both, but don't feel like you have to)
As far as the dinner party, since it's being thrown for them they can't really control it. I would be annoyed at the short notice though. Have your ILs moved to town yet?
I feel like my legs are starting to get fat with this pregnancy and I don't like it. I haven't really worked out since August. I've done yoga 2x/ week since December but I don't think that counts as a work out.
To join a gym or not...it's also getting warmer out so I could start walking back and forth to work. Or sneak in bike rides during the day.

It's a holiday today and pretty much everything is closed. We've been housebound since Friday afternoon thanks to frigid temperatures so I want to get out today but I have no good ideas.
Check your local YMCA. Ours is offering a ton of family programming today and it's all free and you don't have to be a member. We will be heading there after we make a visit to a local museum that also has free programs today.
We bought DS a slide yesterday (the Little Tikes first slide) and it has changed our lyfes. He played on it for a solid hour yesterday afternoon and then he slept 11.5 hours overnight.
This is maybe a flameworthy confession. My childhood BFF has become religious in her 30's and I can't help but roll my eyes every time she sends a text that includes the phrase "I'm praying for you." I'm a recovering Catholic/ agnostic.
Today's example: "hey I know you're in the last month of pregnancy and I'm praying for you that everything goes well!"
... Except I'm not due until May. Hopefully those prayers still count?
I am off work as is H so we were going to get some breakfast and drive around the town we want to move to. It's nearly 11, we've not even left the house. H is taking his sweet ass time getting dressed and out the door. I am starving and annoyed already.
DS saw me getting out of the shower. He pointed at all my stretch marks and said "Mommy has a boo boo on her belly." Yup, a booboo that's never ever going to get better, kid. (wilted)
@idaholakelady my legs have gotten the biggest this pregnancy and it's driving me crazy. I know they're swollen but ugh it's depressing.
namasteak are you doing Pilates reformer classes? I think I may try those after the baby to help my core and back! I really like my trainer but I think Pilates would be a better use of money. Unless I find a deal like @kirkette, damn!!

I am and I looove it! I've noticed a huge difference and it's only been 6 weeks. I go twice a week ($25/class in addition to my gym membership) and it's totally worth it.
