I feel a bizarre sense of pride that the TV has been off since 9:15 am and dd hasn't asked for it. She's amusing herself with play doh and we spent 15 minutes running laps around the house because a "scary chicken" was chasing us.
We were up early for some testing at the children's hospital. Poor thing, he did great but it took 3 IV sticks with the final one in his head. Waiting to meet with the doc now to go over results.
@idaholakelady my legs have gotten the biggest this pregnancy and it's driving me crazy. I know they're swollen but ugh it's depressing.
namasteak are you doing Pilates reformer classes? I think I may try those after the baby to help my core and back! I really like my trainer but I think Pilates would be a better use of money. Unless I find a deal like @kirkette , damn!!
Right, $8, Da Fuq? That's like half of last night's cocktail that I'm trying to work off.
I don't even want to think about how much I was paying! Group classes are a better deal at my gym but even then they're so expensive!!

I am and I looove it! I've noticed a huge difference and it's only been 6 weeks. I go twice a week ($25/class in addition to my gym membership) and it's totally worth it.
That's awesome! It's about the same for my gym too, and it averages to be less than a trainer which is nice.

The reformer is fun. It took me years to get the nerve to do it, but I wish I could work it into my routine more. You know, starlily , is the Pilates queen, right? I'm not sure which one she loves more, Pilates or Ice Skating.
You can run for me since I'm truly terrible at it and I'll take reformer for you

It's less than a trainer at my gym too AND I think it is helping repair my diastis recti more than a trainer would. I do a small group training class (6pple) and think I might drop it because I get more benefit from reformer.

It probably is, unless you are working 1 on 1 with a traine, or PT, with strong DR knowledge and experience. DR, even slight, is the worst! It messes up all your other movements, until your core is healed. The self loathing and doubt during that time is crazy.
The trainer specializes in pp women but obviously she can't tailor the class to just me (although she gives modifications).
And I feel you on the self loathing and doubt. I try to focus on what I see improvement on (balance, coordination etc) vs the pooch & extra skin from my huge babies.
I'm debating whether I should try to control my annoyance at a wedding we are dealing with this month. Groom is H's co-worker and friend, his second marriage, her first.
First, we were invited to a small (~50 people) ceremony at 1 pm on a Saturday, and a similarly small dinner reception that same day at 6 pm. So, huge gap between the two, it's half an hour from our house so we'd spend two hours commuting to and from if we went home in between.
Then we got an invitation to what is apparently the BIG reception, in April. Also in town.
Then, over the weekend, H tells me that he has a freaking dinner party to go to tonight. Apparently one of their bosses is hosting a full-out dinner party to celebrate the upcoming wedding.
This is crazy, right? I was annoyed by the first two things, but now I am approaching BEC with the third. FWIW these are very nice people that I generally like.
The wedding festivities and the work dinner party. Meh. The separate reception in two months? Side eye over here. If the wedding was OOT I get it. Otherwise, why not have the reception the night of the small wedding? The small dinner reception sounds like what most people have as their rehearsal dinner
Omg you guys. $80 and they pretty much deep cleaned my house. I just need to wipe down the cabinets and baseboards! I totally thought it was just going to be a regular cleaning so this makes me very happy!

Add me to the list of people who had grand dreams of getting stuff done but only have the dashed due to snow and daycare being closed :-(
On top of that I can't even binge watch netflix during nap time because now I need to work. I am very bitter and annoyed. Plus I think M is getting sick so I don't see a great week ahead. I am so grumpy and just annoyed at the world today.
namasteak, We keep going back and forth on a 3rd, but I am in the same boat. I was in my best adult shape with each subsequent pregnancy, and worked out consistently until the day I gave birth. It was still such a mission to get back to my normal baseline post baby. I didn't even gain that much weight (27 and 33#s). Basketball bellies, and huge nursing boobs, just take a huge toll on all aspects of my small frame. BAM! There's no where for it all to go.
Solidarity.
DH said I could get what I think is a "mommy makeover" (extra skin removal & breast reduction) but I'm so nervous about going under.
grosnl19 and anna7602, may I ask you two a Spain travel question? We are looking to go this summer for 2 - 2.5 weeks, most likely in mid to late August. We're leaning toward Spain and Morocco (1st choice), or (2nd choice) Spain and another country we absolutely love, that will remain nameless out of respect for @natariru.
Since it's kid free, we want to spend part of the 1st week in Ibiza, and we're trying to decide another Spanish location, before heading to Morocco. Language won't be an issue in Spain, although I'm weak on the vosotros form, and don't do the lisp. LOL Recs for for 1 major city to tag onto Ibiza?
I would suggest Barcelona or Seville. Barcelona has lots of touristy things to do and it will be easy to get a flight to/from Ibiza. Seville is beautiful and great food. I am not sure how easy it is to get to/from Ibiza or Morocco.
It will be hot in mid-late August and potentially outside the tourist area things will be closed. Spaniards typically flee the hot weather in August and take vacations. DH's office was closed all of August unless you were an essential employee.
H invited ILs over for dinner last night. After being here an hour or so, FIL started puking. At which point, MIL admitted it was the 4th time he had puked. 4th. But she made him come anyways.
WHYYYYYY would you come over if you had been puking??? I now feel like this house is a ticking time bomb until we all get sick. So happy Valentines to me.

You're basically confirming my thoughts! I can always pick up with a trainer if I want to work more on weights but when not pregnant I like to do a lot of HIIT classes, run, barre, and weights. Lots of variety but I need to make sure my core and back are strong enough. I think it'll help that I've been so active but I still will need to do work to get back to where I was before I got pregnant.

Daycare is open and my H was supposed to be at work, but he's home sick. Not quite the free day I'd hoped for (wanted to starfish the bed for a nap), but still awesome. Worked out this morning, got a free fancy coffee with a my reward card, got a free burrito bowl from Chipotle (haters to the left), went grocery shopping and got to take my time and use my coupons and coupon apps, lunch with H while we watched last night's AWESOME Walking Dead episode, and now I'm catching up on Downton. Oh Ben and Jerry's for lunch dessert, yum

I've accomplished things today! With a 3 week old and a 2 year old at home! Dishes! Laundry! I got some of C's clothes actually hung up in her closet! Had a disney pandora dance party with A before naptime. HAD A REAL LUNCH. I don't know what's going on, but I like it.
And I'm rewarding myself with Starbucks and an appt at the hair salon tomorrow morning while mom watches the girls for a couple hours.

Yessss I've got a lady coming tomorrow to pay $55 for all the leftover party crap that I have/made for last weekend. To make this MM- after I get money from her, I will have spent less than $250 for the whole party, food included. Boom. I also may be getting some more work from home drafting for my friend's firm! Woop easy money!! Annnnnd I've got a contractor coming this week to give me a price to finish our trim work that we will never get around to (using unexpected tax refund). Plus I'm calling a couple more this afternoon to try and get some comparisons.
I was totally a crap mom this morning. I don't know why, but I've been super tired in the mornings. So I turned on the tv and napped for about 2 hours while J watched tv and destroyed the living room with toys. I need him to go back to daycare! He needs some routine. Back tomorrow, thank goodness.
Random observation...my baby has perpetual angry face. She always looks pissed off. I hope this is temporary. lol
DD had a serious case of resting bitch face for a looong time. Like, at least a few months. I was convinced it was a sign she was destined to be a horribly unpleasant person. But I am happy to report that she is in fact quite pleasant now - very happy and smiley all the time (well, I mean, not all the time; she's two now, so she definitely has her share of unpleasantness, but overall happy). So I'm sure your DD will grow out of it, too!
DH is off today so he took DS1 to swim lessons and I met a friend at the children's museum with DS2. Then we met for lunch. DH the took all the kids home and I went grocery shopping ALONE. I started whole 30 today so it was so nice to go up and down every aisle and read all the labels.
@kirkette another option (and less hot) would be to do maybe Santander and Galicia. Maybe San Sebastián first (I would rank that above Santander but Santander is closer to Galicia IIIRC). We saw some amazing cave paintings about a half hour from Santander (name escapes me, but not the ones you have to book a year in advance). San Sebastián has some of the best food I've ever eaten.
Galicia is also obviously close to Portugal. It has such a different vibe from the rest of Spain - it's really incredible. Santiago de Compostela has a gorgeous church and A coruna is a fine city.
So that would be a very different trip than either Seville or Barcelona but still fun.
@kirkette, another vote for the western side. Seriously amazing. Amazing food, people, and culture.
And to correct @mrsbecky, Santiago has a gorgeous cathedral, which is the third largest Christian pilgrimage site in the world. And even this atheist is in love with it.
Western Spain my most favorite place in the world.

@kirkette, I've been traveling this week. Sorry for the delay! Let's chat via PM. You might want to consider Madeira over Ibiza, but if it's the club atmosphere you're drawn to, you can get that almost anywhere in Spain. Anyway, tell me more about what you're interested in seeing/doing.
