I love buying books.
Dance of Death (Pendergast #6) by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov Me Before You by Jojo Moyes Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
And I pre-ordered Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
I don't usually buy books, but I was having a hard time getting books for book club reads at the library a few months ago, and bought The Art of Hearing Heartbeats (on Amazon I think) All the Light we Cannot See (abebooks, great resource for used books!)
Both books are beautiful, their covers are nice. ATLWCS is a hardback too.
I would use Abe Books again (they coordinate with independent bookstores). I also found Tradesmart (brick and mortar store) during Christmas shopping and will use them at some point.

I haven't bought a new book in forever. I use the library on my kindle. I do miss having a real book in my hands sometimes, but the convenience of the kindle is just to good.
I live a couple of blocks from a library that is part of a fantastic system, so I don't buy books for myself unless I'm going to reread them. The last two I bought were Station Eleven and A Tale for the Time Being.

One of the remaindered bookstores here was having a going our of business sale, so instead of all books $10 each, they were all books $6 each or 6 for $30.
I scored: A Magnificent Obsession (Victoria, Albert, and the Death that Changed the British Monarchy) A More Perfect Heaven (How Copernicus Revolutionized the Cosmos) The Last Boleyn Death of a Cad Death of Yesterday The American Cookbook
And my mother sent me a couple of Rita Mae Brown & Sneaky Pie Brown's Mrs. Murphy mysteries and Princess Elizabeth's Spy at the beginning of December.
I'll have more to report in a few weeks, when I decide how many of the books on my Amazon wish list I can get with the $125 gift certificate I have. I'm still debating how to pick which books make the cut.

I bought Outlander - Voyager for my kindle, since I couldn't handle waiting for the library copy to come in. After much hesitation, I've become obsessed with my kindle. It just makes it so easy for me to read! I'm such a late convert. Oh well.

Are you signed up for the kindle daily deals? Every day I get an email with books for $2. I've picked up some great books that way, like American Gods, The Princess Bride, Throne of Glass, I Am Malala, God in Ruins.... Usually I'm not interested in that day's deals, but I always read it because they do sneak in good ones.

No, but I will, thanks! A friend turned me onto BookBub, so I've been checking that for good deals as well.

I finally unsubscribed from bookbub. I never saw anything that sparked my interest.

I just ordered The Train to Crystal City (Goodreads description) by Jan Jarboe Russell. It's for a bookclub I'm in and the author will be speaking at on of our local museums later in March and I'm hoping to catch it.
