Getting musty smell out of blankets

My parents found two of my old baby quilts in their attic. They smell musty so I washed them but the smell didn't come out so I washed again with vinegar in the rinse cycle. Still stinky.

Any suggestions to get the smell out?

Dod you try soaking them in water/vinegar? I'd do that and then lay them in the sunshine. Though it's a frozen tundra here so I'd have to wait haha

I second laying them out in the sun (but it's frozen tundra here as well).

I'm doing the same with an old quilt my mom gave me - but my great grandmother made it so it's super delicate and I don't want it to fall apart. I washed gently & rinses, and line dried. It's better but I'm planning on sunning it a lot once it warms up.

I would try oxiclean detergent and then maybe hang in the sun to dry.

Yeah, it can be fun. I'm thinking maybe we'll get bundled up and play in the backyard a bit this afternoon. Then I can pretend to be playing with DS while I SHOVEL the snow off my barbeque, so the neighbours don't think I've gone nuts grilling while standing in knee-high snow.
