I used google shopping to find one last week. I bought one at Back Country.com for my currently 10 month old for $44 before shipping... but I took a chance on the REI stratocloud jacket for my daughter for next year. I would recommend it- it's comparable thickness to the thermal, down, very, very compressible. I figured I would return it if it was too puffy, but it was perfect.

You can see online if it is in stock in the store by your house- the sticker price on the tag was even lower than I paid. . They sometimes have coupons, but rarely and they are listed at the top of the page. Almost never coupons on sale items tho
I absolutely love the Patagonia jacket I got for DD this winter but girls sizes are more expensive (and fewer color options) and the baby size is sold out in all 5t colors. BOO!
This is exactly it! But I really need a 4T so she can hopefully wear it more than one year. Although, I'm pretty sure she's in a mismarked size now, because at a 3-4T (admittedly with long arms) her 18-24mo jacket from last year still fits this year!
North Face runs huge in toddler sizes. C is still in her 3T jacket with a bit of room - she wears 4T/5T clothes. I plan to get her a 4T NF for next year.

Hmm I bought my DD the 4t North face this year and she wears 3T clothes and is about 28 lbs. I didn't find it that huge and I hope it fits her next year.
DD has a 6-12 month NF jacket that I bought last year that she wore with the sleeves folded up. It fits her fine this year though and she is in 2T for tops.
