We've known which puppy we want since we paid our deposit right after they were born, but we had to wait until they were six weeks old to officially choose. We got second choice, so we've been worried that the first choice people would pick the puppy we've fallen in love with.
Well, the puppies are six weeks old as of Friday, we got to make our pick this morning, and they didn't take the one we wanted so he's officially ours. Look at that face!
Congrats how do you think your other dog will react?
He has a lot of experience being around other dogs, and has never shown any signs of jealousy or aggression. This will definitely be different because it's another dog moving into this turf permanently, but he's really laid back and handles change well so we're hoping it will be a pretty easy transition for him. We've also talked a lot about how we're going to make sure that Bowser doesn't feel neglected while we're acclimating Gus.
She's 11. We've had her since she was a pup she's such a good girl. So affectionate, and lazy she's tan and white.
Our beagle/basset mix is 11, too! We rescued him when he was 5, though, so this will be our first basset puppy experience.
Awww!!! They're really hard topotty train bc they are stubborn, and bc their sense of smell is so strong that if they haves accident, they seem to always have an accident in the same spot. But we obviously got past that. Also she learned tricks for fruit bc the smell was so strong and sweet

Yeah, we're definitely nervous about the potty training. Haha. We're going to keep him contained with a playpen until he's fully potty trained to attempt to avoid him having accidents in too many spots in the house.
Fruit is a great idea for training! Bowser loves veggies, especially peas, but fruit would definitely be more likely to get the attention of Gus's nose.
