Lurker here. It depends on what aand how you plan to use it for. Will you be shooting in raw or jpeg? I would look for one with a higher processing speed. I have the lexar professional with 150mb/s 16gb. One thing to remember is it's best to format the card in camera after you have transferred to your computer rather than deleting the pictures.

You should be fine with that card then. I shoot raw+ jpeg and have plenty of space with it. Also, don't take a class. There are plethora of YouTube videos you can watch to help you learn.
