My 3.5 year old DS is in his crib converted to a toddler bed, so we have this still attached to the rails and he still uses it. He can turn on the music himself when he feels like it and it projects stars on the ceiling. www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-BML40-3-in-1-Projector-Soother/dp/B00F2MQDNE

MY 5.5-year olds sleep with Fisher Price seahorses every night. Just enough light to let them see around their bed and provides music. They actually didn't get attached to sleeping with them at night until they moved to big kid beds.
My h put two screws in the wall right above O's bed and hung the crib aquarium there. Not ideal to stick holes in the wall, but he still has his aquarium that way.
I'm sorry if this is a stupid FTM question, but what is the purpose of these? Supposedly they help kids sleep, but how? I would think they would be more stimulating.
Edit: we do have a sound machine in his room but it's just an app on my old phone that I keep plugged in.

DS would wake up in the middle of the night, push the button, watch the fish and then fall back to sleep. Or else entertainment in the early morning so we didn't have to get him ASAP.

He liked it when he fell asleep (the music I guess). Then when he would wake up in the MOTN or in the morning he would push it and not need us. Now the baby figured out how to press it early (he is only 7 months!) and he will push it in the MOTN and fall back asleep to it. Or if he is having a night where he doesn't want to go to sleep I just plop him in his crib and turn it on and he falls back asleep. Its kind of hypnotic I think lol

My son will be 4 on the 23rd and still uses his at night. His attaches to his headboard. He has the little Einstein aquarium. Our baby has a portable sound machine and it's also a projector.
We just put DS' on a stool next to his bed. He's 3.5 and still uses it every night to fall asleep. He's stopped using it in the middle of the night and now crawls into our bed, but it really helps him calm down when he's first going to sleep.
DS liked his crib soother thing a lot so I just poked holes in his mesh bed rails and hung it on the bed rails until he was done with it. It worked fine and the holes were pretty small so it wasn't any issue once I took it off.

I am looking for this magical creature! I have the wall from his crib behind his bed right now so the aquarium can be attached! I need to repossess the crib was in the next few months though :/
DD1 is almost 5 & still uses her aquarium! I just lays on a table next to her bed. I hate that it takes 4 C batteries (and now DD2 uses one nightly too!) but its held up nicely. Fish don't move anymore but the music is really what she likes.
