Last week I had one really bad day. Like, worse day in months depression wise. Thankfully I felt better by the end of the day. So I talked to my mom and I have it set up with her so I can drop G off in the morning and have a couple of glorious hours to myself before meeting up with DH for lunch at my favorite Mexican place to celebrate the anniversary of him proposing! I'm going to go get a large latte and get a pedicure! Can't wait to have some "me" time.
That sounds fun bk1! Glad you're able to get some time to yourself!
We ended up going down to a friend's house for game night on a whim last night, haha. We played Power Grid for the first time (well it was H and I's first time playing it) and I won Fun game but it takes forever!
Didn't do much today other than some laundry and catching up on Grey's. It was nice out but we were both too lazy to do much of anything haha. This week is supposed to be in the 50s mostly so if we get home early enough hopefully we can get outside!
I feel like all I do every weekend is clean. I have the occasional chores I only do on weekends (like bathrooms, scrubbing the floor) but then somehow my husband makes messes galore and doesn't help clean up after M so that job just increases. It's annoying.
Tonight I had panda express for dinner.I haven't been able to beat Chinese in years because it nauseates me, but I actually enjoyed it. Maybe the less authentic stuff suits me better. Lol.
amaranth , it is! Basically you are trying to build in cities and then power them. You get plants that use different types of resources to power different amounts of cities (so I could have a plant that takes 3 oil to power 5 cities or something) and the more cities you have, the more money you make. I had no idea I was even close to winning, haha. It was our last turn so I just started buying up as many cities as I could afford and I had the resources to power them all so I ended up winning with $1 left! Here's a link to the game, I really liked it! Like I said though it did take us a while to play but part of that was trying to get 3 kids to sleep at the beginning, lol.
It was.cold and rainy this morning/afternoon so I was finally able to use our oven! I baked pumpkin spice cookies and made sweet potato enchiladas! Went for a walk late afternoon and am actually in bed right now planning to go to sleep by 7:30 LOL
DH missed a call from his mom this afternoon. They called back while I was in the shower around 6p. Apparently his grandma came home for church, pulled in her garage, and was greeted with a gun at her head the a-hole wanted her purse and all her jewelry. I guess two weeks ago an elderly couple was killed down the street in a 'very similar situation (police thinks same guy...also believe guy had been chasing her for awhile since he knew when she would be home and where the jewelry was). The police have been there all day and his parents are there now. I'm just so thankful she is alive...she is one of the sweetest people I know.
luv2rn4fun That is terrifying! What a blessing that he let her live, but I feel absolutely sick even having to have written those words. Does she have someone to stay with her for a few days?
estrellita Sounds interesting! I'll have to ask my H if he's ever played it on one of his game nights.
Thanks ladies! amaranth- I can't imagine my ILs will let her stay alone. Not sure if they are all heading back to their river house (they still have a house locally but all the furniture is basically removed...I think they sleep on a mattress on the floor when they are here) or everyone is staying at grandma's house. FIL is ex-police officer and has a permit to legally carry a weapon. So so scary to think of what she experienced and that we could have lost her yesterday. Also not sure what will happen going forward...she is really attached to this house since her husband died there 8 years ago. She can live with either MIL or her son but she is so independent and not ready to lose that. Just can't imagine staying there knowing this happened.
Oh my goodness, luv2rn4fun , that is scary! I'm so glad that she wasn't hurt. I hope they're able to find the person who robbed her!
Thank you! I think she was able to provide a good description. FIL mentioned something about a lineup so maybe they have a person of interest? Still haven't talked to anyone (left messages for grandma and MIL this morning) so not really sure what is going on at this point. I really hope they find this person and can link him to the murders as well.
