I am starting an amazon wish list for Christmas (yes, I know it's early, but it takes me a while to think of things). One thing that we haven't had in about 6 years is a toaster! We use to not need one, but Tman has started eating a lot of toast and we have toaster waffles sometimes, too. I have just been heating them in the oven, but I think I'm ready to get a toaster.
ANYWAY, the toaster I'd really like is $50! Does that seem like a lot for a toaster?
Nope. I registered for the 4 slot cusinart toaster and I think that was $75. Someone got it for me, so there are other people out there who think $50+ for a toaster is reasonable.
Also, given that you have a family and if you eat a lot of toast id get a 4 slot toaster. It takes up more counter space, but then it makes getting breakfast ready so much faster.
We have a toaster oven from cuisinart, which I really like because we can useit to reheat things too. But, it didn't do great on toast, we have a hard time controlling the light/dark level. It was $99 or $89, so i might look in that price range instead hit for a different make or model.
i have a pretty schmancy toaster oven. it obv takes more room/counterspace than a 2 slot toaster, but like niq said, we use it to reheat (or even bake new) small things...saves energy from heating up a big oven. ours has a toast function..it's broken now, but used to be perfect time/heat...we just have to adjust it now, which isn't too bad. i think it was about $159. something like that.
