I read some commentary that talked about how little his name is being mentioned in the speeches. Chris Christie's speech is one in particular. I said earlier I think it is very odd that they are having a "special guest" tonight. Tonight should be all about Romney. Why overshadow him with hype about a special guest?
That was pretty awesome. I want them to wheel out other reality show winner has-beens. Like that playboy chick from Rock of Love. Or Joe Millionaire. I bet he has something insightful to share about bootstraps.
I didn't watch the conventions in 08 religiously, but the bits and pieces I have seen of those and the pieces i have seen so far this year, it seems like there is a lot less energy and enthusiasm on the whole.
Also, I have never seen a Clint Eastwood movie. Ever. I thought about watching Gran Torino, but insom on MM said it sucked and the National Review called it one of the greatest conservative movies of all time, so I decided that it didn't seem worth ruining a perfectly good piece of self-trivia over.

I am just slack jawed at how few people are discussing Mitt. It seems like a 15 minute informercial for self promotion of who ever is speaking at the moment

Really?? I mean, I guess I could see it in the realm of right to arms, but thats really it. I LOVED Gran Torino.

omg, that is one of my all-time fave movies. go rent it. its really good.
Gran Torino sounded good. Then I read more about it and decided I would hate it. Old white person and minority person teach each other about life is a plot I've seen a million times, and each time, the movie sucked. So I don't have high hopes for it being an enjoyable 120 minutes.
ETA - I take that back. Save the Last Dance was AWESOME. No way can Gran Torino top that. I'm betting Clint can't bust a move like Julia Stiles.

I laughed my ass off during the Clint Eastwood speech (the part I saw). But I'm easily amused by the conventions. MAKE MY DAY. haha! The chair! Hilarious. Maybe not in the way it was meant, though.
