Oh my god, book hangover. Anyone else read this? If not, and you enjoy a good psychological thriller, go get it. Stephen King called it "hypnotic and scary" so you know it's got something.
The writing is ... different though. I see that this author has another book, but I need a couple in between just due to the style of writing, so I'll wait a bit. I wish I could C&P the first page to illustrate what I mean. It's sort of stream of consciousness, where you can almost hear the MC / narrator taking a deep breath here and there. It's so compelling though, and absolutely terrifying, in a (usually) quiet kind of way.

I read this. I'm a bit torn. I wasn't crazy about the graphic language but the plot was interesting and the descriptions of the characters and the pacing excellent. It was hard to put down. I picked up the sequel and read the first few chapters but I wasn't as hooked and ended up putting it down. I might pick it back up in a bit though if I find myself without something decent to read.
