Just got an email from ILs...article released saying person responsible for attacking her and killing the elderly couple was killed in another robbery two days later! I'm happy and relieved! MIL said grandma cried when she saw the picture of the guy..definitely him. I guess he was 20 years old.
Wow, that's crazy! Sad that he was so young but I suppose he did deserve it after killing two people. I hope she feels a little safer now!
That land he was the one robbing the jewelry store, with a gun so who know what he would l d have tried to do. I guess he felt invisible, like he could go in with a gun wherever he wanted and steal stuff without consequence. Not saying he "deserved" to lose his life but I'm glad he's no longer hurting others and ruining their life. Grandma still likely won't live on her own...how does an 88 year old get past this, especially living on her own? I'm angry he took her independence when she has spent years fighting drop it since her DH died. It sucks big time
Wow! I'm glad he can't hurt anymore people. Crazy how things come around to get you sometimes.
I didn't think it would turn around like this...crazy! I was just hoping they caught him before more people were hurt. The final robbery was the 4th within 1 week.
In other related news...the wife started a Go.Fund.Me page to raise money for his proper burial LOL. Also, apparently he was in jail for various charges (robbery, sexual assault, rape, sexual battery amongst others) land released on probation 2/18...didn't take him long to go back to his old ways.
What a sad ending. It's great that your grandma doesn't have to worry about him anymore, but how terrible for his family to have to go through the pain of losing him at such a young age.
I missed the back story on this, but I'm glad your grandma is ok, and that she does it have to worry about him anymore.
That's sad that he was so young though.
Grandma was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday. Police believe it's the same guy that killed an elderly couple (husband was 95, wife was 92) the week before. He also robbed a donut shop at gunpoint and was killed when robbing a jewelry store. He was just released from jail 10 days before on probation for a long list of convicted charges.
katespade- I feel for his family too but I feel more for his victims. I didn't and don't wish him dead but it's good he's not around to kill more people. He apparently has a long history and even jail didn't straighten him up (the best punishment would be him spending his life jail for.killing the elderly couple).
Whenever someone who commits violence dies violently I think of the expression: "Those who live by the sword, die by the sword." The robber made his life choices and they ultimately led to his demise. I'm glad that his murderous robbery spree is ended and all the victims can find closure. I hope your grandmother recovers well and is able to be reunited with her wedding ring.
