I just started Starflight by Melissa Landers. I like it so far. YA sci fi.
YES to going out alone and bringing a book. I do this at least once a week, more if I'm lucky, but I'll sit at the bar for lunch. It's during the workday, so just iced tea, but it's so nice!
I just finished All the Light We Cannot see last night, so I haven't started anything new yet. (Well, I've got a trashy romance going on my kindle but I don't count that.) I may start Laurie R. King's A Monstrous Regiment of Women next.
QOTW: I rarely eat by myself, but if I do I absolutely have to have a book with me. More often, I'll go to the movies by myself, but I'll take a book there as well to read before the movie starts.
I have two going: The Children by Ann Leary, which I don't particularly like, and The Madwoman Upstairs by Catherine Lowell, which is much more enjoyable. I won The Children in a goodreads giveaway so I feel like I have to finish it. I've been carrying it with me so when I have downtime at work I can try to get through it. I'm just not connecting with the characters at all.

I'm reading Murder on the Minnesota, the third in Conrad Allen's series set on board classic ocean liners. It's a re-read, but it's fun.
QOTW: I always have a book with me. That's a requirement for my purses/day bags -- they have to big enough to hold a book/my Kindle along with all the other stuff. When I was working I would often go to lunch with my book. And when I'm traveling, I always take a book with me to dinner.
I'm reading Wicked. Not a reread, but brand new to me
Either a book or my phone. I was bringing my book to work for lunch breaks for awhile but have kind of stopped. Now that the weather is nicer, I will hopefully do it more. Traveling, absolutely!

I would love to know your thoughts. I read it for my book club, and I had to force myself to get through I t. But, I love, the (significantly) adapted musical!
I finished The Last Anniversay by Liane Moriarty last night. I enjoyed it and like her style of writing.
Today I started The Life List by Lori Nelson Spielman. I think it will be a quick easy read for my weekend alone. Perfect!
QOTW: if I know I will be eating alone I take a book or a magazine to keep me company.
I'm currently rereading Jane Eyre and just started Goodnight June by Sarah Jio as well. Jane Eyre is going well, Goodnight June I haven't gotten far enough to tell if I like it but I've loved every one of Sarah Jio's books that I've read.
QOTW: I always have a book/kindle with me, so I would definitely bring one if I knew I'd be eating alone. Although it's hard for me to read a physical book and eat at the same time so I'd probably just play on my phone if it wasn't a kindle book, since I can prop my kindle up and not have to hold it.
I'm reading The Martian and Major Pettigrew's Last Stand. Liking them both so far. On audio I finished Pat Conroy's South of Broad and while I loved the character development, his use of language, and his vivid descriptions of place, I am still processing how I feel about the overall story. It was a tad predicatable, and sort of out there, but I think his lovely storytelling outweighs all of that for me.
I'm currently listening to Stella Bain by Anita Shreve. Ho hum so far, hopefully it picks up soon.
QOTW: I have no problem taking a book/my Nook with me to eat out alone. If I was sitting in an outdoor area with scenery or pedestrian traffic to observe, that would probably win out, especially if it was a city I had never visited before.
