If you've had a loss, when did you get your period?
I had a loss the first week of February (5 weeks ago. I was 7 weeks). I had my final beta draw this week...finally back to zero in the last week or so.
When did you get your first period post loss? I know everyone's body is different, but it's driving me crazy not knowing when it's coming. I've always been like clockwork regular. I figured 4 weeks/when beta zeroed out, but still nothing.
Additional question. When I got the call confirming zero beta, they reiterated what they told me in February during the loss - wait three months to try getting pregnant again. I know it's what the doc recommends and I plan to file her suggestion, but is this the norn? 3 months seems like forever...

I'm sorry for your loss. I had 3 CPs and got my period approx 28-32 days after I started bleeding. Mine were a couple weeks earlier than yours, though.
We were cautioned to wait 3 cycles after each. We waited after the first two, but got pregnant with DD the first time I ovulated after our 3rd loss. I know there is recent research questioning the rationale behind waiting 3 cycles, but that's still standard advice from OBs.
My d&c was 2/10 and I just got my period yesterday - so 30 days after? I tried temping to see if I could figure out what was happening/predict my period, but it was a big fat fail and my chart makes zero sense. As for waiting to try - my follow up isn't until Monday, so I'm sure my doc will let me know his thoughts then, but we're planning on starting to try again this month. I've read lots of conflicting info on this, but I feel comfortable trying again ASAP. Sorry again for your loss.
I usually get my period 6-8 weeks after my losses. (I don't have normal cycles yo begin with though.)
I had a loss just recently and talking to my OB she said that we could try right away if we want to. She said that there have been some studies recently that show that you are more fertile post early loss then you are after a few cycles. I don't know if we will try or not this cycle.

I just checked my charts and it took me about 10 days from a zero beta to have a period again. The MMC was confirmed at my 9.5 week ultrasound on 1/15. D&C was performed on 1/18. Beta was down to zero by 2/10, extremely light spotting started on 2/16, one day of bleeding on 2/19.
My doctor told me I could start trying after the first period if I was ready. I was, I did. Don't feel optimistic about the cycle, but glad to be "trying" again.
I wish you and your DH the best. Going through a loss is awful and the waiting to see what your body will do next makes it even harder. It felt like it took a lot longer to get a period than it actually did.
After my first loss, my period returned 28 days after my D&C, though my betas didn't drop to <5 until about 3 weeks after that. We were cleared to start TTC right away once betas had dropped <5.
The second loss my period returned 28 days after my D&C, but I didn't have betas drawn, and the OB (different doc from the first one) said we could try again after one cycle.
If you are emotionally ready to try again it's worth asking if you really need to wait 3 cycles...
I'm so sorry for your loss. I also had a loss at 7 weeks. My doc told me to wait 3 months before trying again. I asked about it on here and there was a big variation in what peoples' doctors were telling them. H and I decided to go ahead and try right away anyway. It didn't matter, because I didn't get pregnant. Later I had a CP. I was working with an RE at the time and he let us cycle again right away.

I had a chemical pregnancy in January. My next cycle was 49 days. I have long irregular cycles anyway, so that's within my normal spectrum.
My doctor did not tell me to wait to try, but he's very breezy about everything. He did tell me to wait 6 months before we try any medications, though.
Thank you for posting this, because I actually had the same question today. My body wanted to hang on, so I did Cytotec this weekend. Now I wait.
But really why I came in here was because I read an article recently that it's better to start again right away and that you're worse off if you wait a few months. Who knows if it's right. We're a different situation because we did IVF, but we plan to do another cycle as soon as I get my period.
With my early losses I got my period back approximately on schedule. I was cleared to try again right away, so we did. I had to wait 3 cycles after my ectopic, though, and waited about 5 cycles after we lost our first DD at 24 weeks. I don't know if you're more fertile right after loss or not - the UK literature on miscarriage does mention you might be - but I got pregnant again right away after each of my losses except the final one. My second daughter is actually the result of the longest stretch it took us to get pregnant, but I very much doubt her viability had anything to do with the 6 months between my final m/c and her conception, and more to do with the luck of the draw (and possibly baby aspirin, we'll never know).
The OB said to wait out one cycle and put me back on a pill to start the day after the d&c. My first period came a couple of days after the last pill as expected. We decided to wait out another couple of months on top.
