Ours are pretty great. DH just went to hang out with one of them. Our other next door neighbors always bring us food when they cook big stews. The neighbors behind us are entertaining as well. We always do a big 4th of July celebration with one of our next door neighbors.
We've only met a couple of our neighbors, but they all seem nice. We've talked to our next door neighbor a few times, and one of our across the street neighbors brought over a package that was accidentally delivered to their house. We don't hang out with any of them, though. Then again, we've only been living in our house for less than four months, so that could change eventually.

So far we've only met a few. The one we share a driveway with pretty much keeps to himself but he's been nice enough to snowblow our driveway a couple times! He is divorced and has 2 sons about middle school age. We've met his mom and she's really nice too. The ones on the other side are nice too but we don't see them much. They also have a son in middle school. H met the woman across the street too, they have a 3 year old girl I think and just had another baby. Other than that we just know a couple people that live a block or two away. I'm sure we'll start talking to everyone more once it's summer and we're all outside more!
Haven't hung out with the neighbors in our new hood yet but people say hi when we're out walking the dogs.
We were friendly with the lady next door at our townhouse, but I would call it hanging out. She walked our pups during the school year, and I'd stop by her house to drop off baked goods when I needed the temptation out of my house. But we'd stand and chit chat for ten or fifteen mins whenever we were both outside. She's he only thing I miss about our old house and neighborhood.

We chat when we are all out walking our dogs, working on our yards or having dinner on the back deck, but I don't hang out with any of them. We are a range of ages from newly marrieds with young kids, the new grandparents, the retirees and the working childless folks. We all have our own priorities and such. But we are very friendly when we are doing house stuff or there is a bear running around the neighbourhood or something.
I don't know any of our neighbors. I've briefly met two people but don't remember their names. I wish people were more social and outside in nice weather. It's weird being surrounded by strangers.
The neighbors on one side of us are an old couple who are very sweet. We talk to them frequently if we see them outside. Even went over there on Halloween to show off G's costume.
The neighbors on the other side we don't like. They have the dog that was running loose.
My cousins live behind me (my mom's age) and their daughter and her family (a little younger than me, has 2 kids) lives around the corner. It's nice because they are some of my family I have always been closest too. We've been trying to do play dates for a couple months now. It's nice to get a couple hours of time together.

We live in the country and have 1 neighbor. They are wonderful. They plow our driveway when we get big snows since we don't have a plow. They also brought us over a baby gift a few weeks ago and then brought over hommemade chicken noodle soup when we got home from the hospital this week. They are about 8-10 years older than us, but I could see us hanging out with them.
We hang out with the people upstairs from us since they joined the firehouse and we got to know them. They have come over a bunch of times and we have gone upstairs to their apartment. They throw an awesome Bon fire too.

We talk and hang out frequently with 4 sets of neighbors, 2 more than others (same two I also text back and forth with on a regular basis). Also friendly with another 2 sets (talk whenever we see each other). And then we have our next door neighbors...used to be friendly with and were invited over for taco Tuesday's but now they can't stand us (and vice versa) because we complained about all their noise and mechanic business work.
We also hung out with all our neighbors many times per week at our old house. They all had young kids...part of me wishes we never left but living in a 2 bedroom condo would not have worked for long.

We don't really know out neighbors. We live in an apt building and everyone pretty much keeps to themselves. In January when we had the big snowstorm our next door neighbors brought over some homemade chocolate chip cookies which was awesome, but also pretty random. They seem nice. The guys across the hall seem a little weird, and someone (I think them) definitely smokes pot because we get whiffs of it in our bathroom sometimes. All in all I am happy with neighbors who don't bother me!
The one across the street is older so our extend of knowing her is DH and I shoveling her driveway in the winter. When we moved in she did bring us some amazing cupcakes, and she drops off goodies in the winter when we started shoveling her driveway.
The neighbours beside us chit chat with us when we see each other. They are a lovely couple in there (50s or 60s).
