I know some kids get red cheeks with teething but that's pretty red! And usually teething fever isn't that high. Fifths disease maybe? I don't know much about it
My kids are both fair and get red cheeks whenever they have a fever. This is P when he had a nasty virus a few weeks ago and was running about 102-103.
It also happens when teething, too. And when it's windy. And when you look at them funny. #paleproblems

Ugh, I hate this. I always struggle with the decision to take him in or not. The last time I waited five days and he had a double ear infection and pneumonia. This is day 3 of the fever but it wasn't as high before now.

I would take him. 3 days of fever plus the red cheeks.
That looks like "slap cheek" or fifth disease to me. I believe it is mild, and there isn't much they can do about it at the doc. See how his fever responds to meds.

My pedi said a few weeks ago there was a nasty cold going spring with high fever for 3 days and red cheeks, mimicking fifths. That said she wants to see kids with a fever for 3+ days to rule it out.
I'm glad you took him in. My sister, my mom, and I are all "reactive reds." Embarrassment, heat, wind, cold, etc. make us all bright red. It is a weird non-problematic thing, but just a thing. They are both pretty fair. I am less so.
