Yesterday I got it cut by a student at the local hairstyling/aesthetics college and it was $8.25 CAD. I like it and I enjoyed being part of the learning process. They're going to raise their prices soon (no surprise considering how low it is) but I'd definitely go back. My hairstyle won't be complicated to maintain.
But yeah, before that I cut my own hair because I refused to pay $40-50 CAD a cut. I was seriously unimpressed about how they tack things on. You think $20, not so bad, then it's $10 for washing your hair, $10 to blow dry, $10 to straighten... WHAT?
I pay $55 for a cut, plus tip. I usually get my hair colored at the same time, which is another $65.
Yeah I usually get highlights too, which range from $60-$100 because my hair is so long and they use 3 bowls of the dye. I think that's pretty standard fare though.
$43 since it is above my shoulders. $48 when it's long. Tip 20-25%. That includes wash, blowdry, and straighten/curl. Same chick throughout the process.

I used to pay $40 and tip $10. Now I just go to Fantastic Sam's and I believe I paid about $25 including tip last time. C's haircut was $12 plus tip today.
ETA: I had a $5 off coupon for my haircut and $3 off for C.
I usually pay $20 plus tip. We have a friend that does hair so I'm going to start using her. She only charged $10 to put the purple in my hair so I doubt she will charge much to cut it.
estrellita and luv2rn4fun I recently got fantastic sams coupons. Are they trustworthy? For $15 I'm tempted to try them out.
I don't notice much of a difference between them and other (much more expensive) hairstylist. For $15 it's likely a shampoo and cut, no blow dry or straighten.
I pay $45 plus tip. I get a scalp massage with a pretty smelling oil, a hand massage, and a really great blowout. I go about four times a year and try to schedule around special occasions so I have straight shiny hair! The rest of the time it is a curly/frizzy mess.
I pay 50 dollars plus tip. I have super thick curly hair, so I see a stylist who does DevaCuts. Hands down the best haircuts I have ever had, she's worth every penny.

This sounds lovely my DC salon did the massages too and I noticed some people would come just for a massage and blowout. If I was rich without little kids I would probably do that every week.

Haircuts are really expensive around here so last summer I tried a new place by my parents' house and I've been going there when I go to visit. It's $35 + tip for wash, cut, and dry.
