I'm starting a capsule wardrobe and I've been shopping for quality pieces I love. Here's my basic capsule, but really it's just the new or new-ish stuff. I have other items that I've had for awhile that I'm incorporating. Anyone else have good ideas or capsules to share?
where are the olive shorts from? in toying with adding a pair of soft shorts to my wardrobe.
Madewell! I love them. They're really flattering and comfortable. I have a very similar style in gray tencel from Gap from last year that I'll wear, too.
The capsule I'm putting together right now looks pretty similar to yours. Jeans, solid and stripes tees, some casual dresses.
There's an army jacket from Madewell that I thought was cute and would be a good staple piece, but I tried it on in the store yesterday and the arms are way tight even when I size up. I was bummed.

I kind of am, since I'm too big postpartum for my old clothes. I'm basically going with white, black, and blue denim jegging and flowy tops. I got a pair of converse shoreline I love and some cognac sandals from target. Sorry no pics-mostly what I got is from American eagle, the limited, and macys.
I really like yours! It is very cohesive. Here's a link to my spring capsule for work (I work PT in a business casual environment). Most of the pieces are from Ann Taylor - I *love* their spring collection. And a few are just similar to items I already own.

That's so nice! Love it. I SAH so I don't have any business nice pieces, just date type stuff and formal stuff.

I would add a pair of black skinnies. I think those go well for all seasons. A pair of white jeans if you're comfortable with white pants. I'm not, but I love the look. I also love knit soft Blazers from Zara. They pull together any look imo. I like your pieces.
What about the dress, drapey blue top and jeans? All Madewell? Lol
Lol. Almost! The dress is Leith, from Nordstrom's. It's really flattering, I think. The jeans are the 9" Madewell high risers, and the tank is Madewell too. Sales!

I have black leggings and I dress for comfort so I think that will last me at least this season. I don't think I can pull off white pants. I'm going to check out the blazers. Even though structured jackets and tops like blazers and jean jackets and chambray button downs are pretty ubiquitous, I just never feel like they look right on me. The flowy knit vest in the pic looks so much better. I also have a cocoon cardigan I love. I need more things like that, I think. I don't know why I look weird in jackets and button downs but I really do.

Where do you find the Zara blazers? I just checked their website but didn't see any that were knit.

So, are those the only clothes you wear to work?? Hey sameoldash, lol.
I can mix and match those pieces to get at least nine outfits. Plus I have a handful of dresses to wear as well. Since I only work two days per week in the office, I'm sure it will meet my needs.

If you like the blazer look, keep trying them. It took me forever to find some that looked good on me.

I've been researching capsule wardrobes since I am struggling with no clothes postpartum and have a very limited budget to work while on maternity leave.
Question: Do you just do laundry constantly? I mean, I already am since I have no clothes to speak of (and a baby). It's just that I feel like the mix it up options would be super limited.

I have 3 kids so I do a lot of laundry anyway. I don't wash my jeans every day, or the knit vest type things. I actually do way less laundry now. My clothes comprise the least of all the laundry :-)

I'm obsessed with madewell right now too. When I lose a few more pounds I'm going to buy a lot. When you look at the materials used I think Madewell is way nicer than J Crew now. Much more of their stuff is natural fibers.

I also love the fit of their clothes and the simplicity. It appeals to me.
