TJ is working nights all weekend and I have a three day weekend, time to get some projects done.
The commercial manager just put her 2 weeks in at his work and the store manager is thinking about promoting him to that position which will be great for him.

Tomorrow is "family reunion". And by that, I mean it's the first game of the football season. (No seriously, they call it the family reunion.) So we're headed out to the Little Apple (yes) for the game. Game time? 6:10 p.m. We're leaving town at 1 p.m. to tailgate lol. I get to walk god knows how far to the stadium and then they'll let me ride the elevators to the nosebleed seats. Hopefully this will get some things moving!

Just bought nursery paint! DD is finally back to a good sleeping routine (crosses fingers) after having been messed up for months.
It is likely my DH will lose his job very soon. For some bizarre reason, I'm not freaking out about it even with crazy pregnancy hormones. My husband even admitted last night it is worrying him that I'm not freaking because I usually would be an absolute nut case.
Our buyers loan "pre-funded" last night so we should close today. So, as of today I am no longer a homeowner. Sad, but glad it is done. Now, if we could just get moving on the house we are building I would be really happy. Also, the first Tennessee football game is tonight and I am very excited. We have always had house projects so I haven't enjoyed much college football in the last 7 or 8 years. Now that we are in an apartment for about 6 months I will be able to enjoy the season. My husband couldn't care less about football but I am thrilled.
Bunny- The process isn't quite happening like we planned but it is working out for the best I think. We hadn't planned on our house selling so fast but we had four offers the first day it was listed. I was shocked. It made me feel really good about the years of work we put into it. We had painted, fixed or replaced everything in the house from the roof to the main sewer line and everything in between. It was a great feeling that other people liked what we had done. The new house is still a plot of dirt so we will be apartment living with our 3 kids for about six months. It would be nice if the home building fairy would help us out and move this along. : ) After dealing with our fixer-upper for 8 years I am beyond thrilled to have a newly built home with all the items I selected.

That had to be an amazing feeling!
And I just got confirmation that my husband is pretty much unemployed at this point. FML. At least now we officially need to make the big push on projects and get the house listed.
Ugh, Bunny. I am sorry to hear that. Do you have a REA that you are working with? When we were considering selling I called our agent and she came and walked through the projects we wanted to do. There were a few things she told us not to worry about or to do differently and it appears she was right. If you have an agent that could help with something like this it may save a little work for you.
my job gives me a 4 day weekend every other week! (this is a trade for a working weekend on the other end, but right now i love the concentrated time off.)
i got my first cheque from my first big girl job today. i logged onto my bank account thing this morning to see that auto-deposit and then did a happy dance.

My AW is that my awesome spouse paid someone to come do all the yardwork I had planned for this weekend, so I can do other projects instead (like, um, getting the old house ready for the rental market!). I would totally not have spent the money, but I am so happy for it to be done and I think it looks nicer than what I would have done. Yippee!
Well, I just got what could be some bad news, but I'm going to think positively. Our second car (beater used for local stuff) just got a repair estimate that exceeds the value of the car. Bummer. We were a one-car family forever before we needed to buy something more reliable, but it was nice to have a fall-back vehicle when we absolutely needed to run errands separately. It was also our "out-of-town visitor" car so they didn't have to get a rental.
However, I'm proud to be a one-car family again. I felt sort of wasteful having two when we really didn't need them. And we're getting $400 at the junkyard tomorrow, so I guess that's good. And I need to call and take it off our insurance, so that will be some savings. RIP Chevy Malibu!
I survived the first week of school with students in 90+ temps every day in a building with no air. If that's not something to be stoked about, I don't know what is!
H is out chopping corn. Child is asleep. I did little mini pedis with my neice. She's now back home and I'm having Caprese pasta, stuffed mushrooms and wine. About to read a bit. I haven't been this relaxed in like...ever..lol.
