We are doing a little more work on our bathroom and sealing off a random doorway that bizarrely leads into the bedroom walkin closet. (this bathroom has two doors, one to the hallway and one to a bedroom, but instead of opening to the actual room, the door is in the bedroom closet). Anyway, closing off this door will give more useable space in the closet and also make more sense in the bathroom.
I'm considering adding recessed shelving to the space to give a little more bathroom storage. Do you have this in your bathroom? How useful is it given the shallow depth. I don't want to bother uf it's really only going to be for random stuff that collects dust. Can you get baskets that fit recessed shelves? What do you store in yours?
You might be able to put like pretty glass jars on it that can hold random bathroom things, like Q-tips or cotton balls. Or little pretty jars of lotion.
No, we have a separate master. I believe that the bedroom used to be the master. The owners put a large addition that included a new master bedroom and master bath. Maybe they also created the walkin as well, which would explain how a doorway to the bathroom made it into a closet.
Oh that is weird! I feel like a broken record, but if you go to houzz.com, then put in recessed shelving, you'll see lots of good examples. I like towels and candles there, jars with basics, that kind of stuff

We're putting recessed shelving next to the vanity to sort of extend the vanity top. I'm also hoping to do a recessed pantry that would be about 7-8 inches deep.
