I just got caught up. I have a genuine sad hangover about Charlie. Even though it was pretty obvious from the beginning, I still kind of wanted them to run off together.
Also, I really REALLY hate Marnie, but damn Sunday's episode was SO GOOD.
This so much. I knew going it that it was going to be a Marnie capsule episode and was super annoyed, but it ended up being one of the best episodes of the series IMO. Poor Charlie.
I hope this means we never have to hear Marnie and her awful STBXH sing together ever again.

Yes. I always liked Marnie and Charlie together and I hated that they had to basically write him off when the actor didn't want to play the character anymore (talk about millennial bs). I didn't like the fight between Marnie and Desi at the end though. It was like she was making all of their problems out to be entirely his fault when SHE is the one who pushed for them to get married. That's Marnie for you though, so I guess it was consistent with her character.
eta: Is it too much to hope for that Hannah reacts to the Jessa/Adam news with maturity? I'd love to see her do that.
I also think Ray and Marnie would be good together.

Oh that guy was the worst. I used to not really like Adam, but am loving him and Jessa together.
I hate so many characters on the show though. Basically everyone except Jessa, Adam, and Ray.
He was a TERRIBLE character, but he played it well, lol.
Japanese Shoshana is growing on me.
Japanese Shoshana is my new favorite! I liked the part where she wondered if she had made up Tokyo in her mind, that was cute. And the cat cafe! Perfect for her, lol. I think she is coming back though so :/
Yeah I don't know why I watch this show either when basically all the characters grate on my nerves. Jessa gets on my nerves too, she is so egotistical. I like Adam, Ray, and Elijah though. I guess I just want to see where they all end up.
The characters drive me nuts but I also love them. I am really liking Japanese Shosh.
This is one show that makes me truly laugh so hard. I don't know why but I find myself just cracking up complete with tears running down my cheeks. This last episode not so much but the previous week with Hannah and her mom at the spa, definitely.

I keep asking myself that too, but writing is so good. I tried watching Togetherness which I should like because the main characters are parents who are about my age and who are supposed to be living pretty close to my house, but the writing is so bad that I hate all the characters because they appear to me totally self centered and one dimensional.

Yeah, same here. I like Shosh, but all the other girls? Ugh. Not so much. The guys, though... I'll keep them.

I hate watch that show too! lol. I can't *stand* the dad. He's such a whiny, self centered, bump on a log. He needs a swift kick in the ass. I do like the two women though, especially Amanda Peet's character. I think they are interesting (the two women).
I am predicting Adam giving Jessa money and then her doing something extra awful with it will be the end of Jessa / Adam in one of the upcoming episodes.
I hate them together. I want another happy Adam / Hannah reunion.

I like Amanda peet too. The dad needs to go...he's so awkward. The scene in front of the mirror...I was embarrassed for him.
Girls was good, but I agree I don't love any of the characters except maybe stosh.

This is a good prediction. And I would also like to see Adam/Hannah together again.

The dad is one of the creators of Togetherness, so I don't think he is going anywhere. I found him (and his brother) creepy and awkward on the Mindy Project too.
I'm loving this season and the Marnie episode was so good yet sad. I actually kinda liked her for the first time and she seemed to gain some self awareness. I'm glad she dumped Desi. He was on the show way too long.
I hope Shosh stays in Japan, but I don't think she will.
I loved last night's episode, and agree with everyone else that most of the characters are totally unlikeable. I wish they would show more of Adam's sister and her boyfriend (can't remember his name).
I'm obviously an old lady because the first thing I screamed at the TV when she found the needle was "GO GET TESTED!!!!!!"
Yeah, I was like, "Oh great, now she has AIDS."
Also, kiiiind of WTF to him selling large amounts of cocaine and her pretending to be a hooker was cute/funny, but needle drugs are OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. But I guess maybe that's the lack of self-awareness? She was along for the ride and it was fun? Maybe I'm over-analyzing this?
Yeah I thought her "oh, Charlie's a coke dealer? whatevs" attitude was a bit out of character. She's the judgiest of the judgey and gets worked up over everything.

I agree with that, but I also think since she was running away from Desi, she was just going along with it since it was Charlie, who I think she never really got over to begin with.

I actually kind of liked Marnie in the beginning of the series. I can relate to the feeling of being "smothered" by the perfect BF. I think them breaking up was natural. I think her whole character went off the rails with that Booth Jonathan character. She really lost her marbles after that.
Sad the direction they went in with Charlie. I loved him!
Japanese Shosh is also growing on me. I'm not happy with Adam and Jessa together, it's just so wrong!
I also love Ray. One of my favorite episodes with him was from last year when he was dealing with the people honking their horns right outside of his window and he flips out in the middle of the street.
I hate Hannah more than I hate almost any television character. I hate her more than I hated Joffrey Baratheon. I actively root for bad things to happen to her. I love Adam and hope he just gets away from all of these awful girls. I don't see how Fran stuck with Hannah for an entire year.

Seriously, Hannah is the absolute worst. I always watch the interview with Lea Dunham after the show and I wonder if she realizes how much people hate Hannah? She talks about Hannah being weird, quirky, etc. but no. WORST.

I thought that after last week when she was talking about her Basic Instinct moment. She made a comment about how Hannah's humor and Fran's are just so different and he just doesn't understand hers. Um, NO. What she did was not funny or "quirky" or whatever Lena thinks. Hannah crossed a huge line and yeah- I don't know that Lena gets it.

I think Lena just sort of is Hannah and will never get it. To her it is normal (quirky!!).
