So H and I have lived in our home for about 12 years and the house itself is about 20 years old. We've done some basic updating to it over the last five years but we've decided to add some outdoor living space and I'm so excited about it. Here's the scoop... my H owns a pet sitting business and the bad part of that work is that you get to go into everyone's homes and backyards and see what they have done to their spaces. So far we've hired a contractor to start a new cedar covered porch, new patio furniture (that stuff is ridiculously expensive... ugh!), new grill, new garage epoxy floor, gray paint inside and new flower beds in the backyard.
We're broke now LOL
I'm starting to save money to put hardwood in upstairs and refinish our downstairs hardwoods.....hope to get that done in the next few months. Hopefully my high school kids are old enough not to tear it up or ruin it before they get gone to college ha ha
Wow you've got a lot going on! How lucky you are that your DH can bring home his best ideas from the various job sites! Wishing you well. I'm excited for spring although I just read that Colorado can expect more snow in April!

My H desperately wants to move to Colorado -- at least he thinks he does. We are both dyed in the wool Southerners and I think he would lose his mind with the cold and snow!

DH and I are planning on some renovations to the outside of the house. New siding, roof, windows, hopefully a Solatube or two. We live in a manufactured home, and are stuck trying to figure out how much work to do to make the house somewhere we're going to be happy living for the next 5-10 years before we build, but not sinking too much money into something that we won't get any return from. Renovating my bathroom has been on the back burner for 2-3 years now, but it will really just be a cosmetic makeover.

Ya'll are gonna have to teach an "old" how to do pics. That's always been beyond me... I've always wondered how yall got pics on here. That sounds so lame but sadly its true!

How exciting! I hope things turn out just as you hope, if not even better!!!
Because of my DH's military career, we've never owned a home (the longest he was at one assignment, in his 20 years, was our three years in Germany, the rest were two years or less!). We plan to buy at some point. The thought of renovating equally scares and thrills me.
